TOPIC: Rare Token auction - Ioun Stone: Quicksilver Spher

Greetings. I realized two things:
1. The Firefly organizer from Broken Token is really expensive
2. My wizard starts with an odd DEX score of 13. I can boost it four points to 17 (don't have Viper strike +3 item, and not going to use the uncommon +1 DEX booster b/c it is in the neck slot). 17 points gets the same benefits as 16, so NOW YOU CAN BENEFIT!!!

I am putting up a rare volunteer token for auction - IOUN STONE: QUICKSILVER SPHERE. If successful, I will pay S & H.

I was thinking of a deadline of Monday, June 13, at midnight.

I would appreciate feedback on how to handle sniping - maybe extend deadline a day if a bid is received within the last hour?

Bfore you sell this you might want to consider next year's Tokens. What if there will be a BiS Token that increases Dexterity by +1? Then you'll wish you never sold this one.

Also... consider the slim possibility Jeff creates a Relic or whatever that uses all the Volunteer Ioun Stones to combine them into one? I know I've been lobbying for that for a year now. It would be a nice way to clear up the Ioun Stone slots. 6 Stones down to one.

Making an ioun stone relic that combined all of the volunteer tokens into one seems like a bad idea. Super powerful and kind of a poke at any volunteers that have been working hard to help and sold/traded their Stones

a great way to stop sniping...tell people they only get one bid...so they will bid their max right away

No more powerful that the Completed Rod Of 7 Parts. But, you only get the pluses, not any other abilities. It would be just combining them all into one Ioun Stone. The Ioun Stone slot has become cluttered with so many great ones to choose from.

As for those that sold theirs already...

They chose to do that. It's no different than someone who gets a UR or other Token and sells it knowing it is or might be used in a recipe.

Heck! I'm still holding onto the Dragon-related gear from previous years that were Volunteer Tokens on the off chance they will be needed for a recipe or we have a Dragon to fight again.

The Rod of Seven Parts doesn't grant +5 Ioun slots in addition to its other effects...

I would think something like all 6 for +2 to all 3 stats would be possible.
Or, 3 UR tokens for +2 to all and 3 rares for +1 to all, both of which would help a bit but not be too crazy as far as clearing ioun stone space.

I am pretty sure that one of the reasons volunteers are getting the necklaces this year is to provide a stat bonus that doesn't take so many Ioun Stone slots. Would still like to have gotten pants, but I understand the desire to not make the token BIS.

What is that reason btw?

Because I've been thinking about volunteering but have been leery of giving up so much con time since I'm from the West Coast. When the pants were originally announced as the volunteer tokens I was like, worth it, I'm doing it this year. But, after it was changed I decided to wait for another year to do it.

I believe they didn't want the volunteer pants to be BIS right out of the gate. They were made into an UR so everyone had access.

Sometime that unpresidented might still be seen as an FU to some volunteers. Personally I know I'd be more than a little miffed.

A multi year vol relic is a cool idea to retain people but you have to tell people ahead of time or it could end up loosing you the people who felt like they were blind sided by it.

When token suggestions come up next I'm going to suggest all the ioun stones get reprinted eventually for volunteers. I think this would make a lot of people happy.
Lots of happy volunteers for true dungeon and the stones will hopefully not break $500 which would make me happy
