Since we are talking about Token storage, can people comment on the magnetic armbands?

Trent, why did you choose the ones you are selling on your site?
What kind of pitfalls are there compared to the less expensive ones that are available (like on amazon)?

What about using magnetic wristbands over armbands?
While the bands on the bicep will hold more, they also seem like they'd be slightly less convenient to reach than bands on the wrists.

Any other comments?

These are consignment items placed by MasterEd. He's one of the most trusted and well respected members of the True Dungeon community, so if he's selling it, it's a good thing! :)

I've never used the less expensive ones that you're referring to, so I won't be able to comment on them. I do know that the magnets are very strong, and would most likely survive a hurricane and the tokens would never fall off. :)

What about using magnetic wristbands over armbands?
There's a strap, so it can tighten up at different locations on your arm, but it's up to the size of your arm of course. I'd say it's best around the biceps though.

While the bands on the bicep will hold more, they also seem like they'd be slightly less convenient to reach than bands on the wrists.
Personally I think the bicep works better, but you may feel differently. I'd say get one of each (one for wrist & one for bicep) and see how it works out for you. I think having something at the wrist level would probably be too bulky there while I'm sliding, even if I'm not using that hand to slide.

Any other comments?
If you want, you can purchase one from my site, and if it doesn't work for you, you can send it back and I'll give you a refund. :)

I have one.

If you’re wearing one, please let your teammates know.

Some of our players have pacemakers, and strong magnetic fields carelessly brushed near their chest (or elsewhere) could shut them off, with catastrophic results.

Out of curiosity, why did you stop using it? Did it fall apart eventually?

i had too many tokens. I needed like 6 of those and trying to pull 6 of them would have been hard. So I switch to the 1000 chip ones and got a cart

monica still uses 2000 ct one

Trent wrote: And here's my new favorite way to store tokens, plastic containers which have 40 compartments. Thanks for the recommendation Ed!

40-Compartment Box with Dividers

These can hold 10 per section. They can actually hold 11, but I like the nice round number of 10.

I have found myself enjoying these containers so much, that I decided to offer them on my Trent Tokens site . I'll add a note about this to my Monthly Newsletter ( click here to sign up! ), but I thought that since this thread mentioned token storage a few times, some of you might be interested.

Click here to see my new offering, Token Container - 40 Compartments.

These are normally $9.99, but I'm able to offer them for $8.99!

I know this is a slightly older post, but I purchased one for Gen Con this year and, of course, just finished using it all weekend, so I figure my opinion might be relevant to you.

I did like the convenience of having everything visible and available on my forearm. The magnets are very strong and I never had a token come off accidentally, even when pushing through the tunnel into Valhalla.

However, there is a down side in my opinion - the surface of the bracer is basically a grid, composed of squares with the magnets in the center. Those squares are a good bit smaller than the diameter of treasure tokens. This means that as you put tokens onto the armband, they can't all be centered on a magnet - on either end of each row, the tokens will be attached by one end.

It also means that, as you go from row to row, the tokens will overlap. It kind of works because the armband curves around you, but each row will be sticking into the air above the next, kind of like roof shingles. I would greatly prefer the tokens to rest flat on the surface of the band and squarely on a magnet, even if it required the band to have fewer rows or be larger on my arm.

Thanks for your feedback Seth. I'll pass it along to the crafter of this item, MasterEd.
