Here’s a repost of the deal:

PYPs ($100 each) and Teeth ($100) for sale. Each one you buy gets you a 5% chance at a random UR (I’ll pick it out of the randos I get, so I have no idea what it will be.)

We’ll use a lottery system (based on DJIA closing, details later) so you might know you won before I do.

If you contacted me about a higher price, you get the new lower price.

I found a really good randomizer (I work with quite a few very smart data people who challenged me to find one to use for contests). It is based on lightning strike data worldwide (technically, that could be predicted if we had better weather models, better instrumentation, and a better understanding of entropy but, for now, it is random).

Cool idea, but I want to pick a number with total transparency.

My thought is, every “entry” will consist of a set of five numbers between 01 and 00.

So, if you buy three PYP, you might get numbers 01-15, or 86-00. You’ll get your numbers after I get payment.

Anytime after 4:25pm on January 2, 2019, check yahoo finance for the closing price of the DJIA. (The market closes at 4pm, but there’s a 20-minute delay.) The pennies are the winning number. If the Dow closes at 23,456.78, then the winner is whoever has “78.” Then, when I get the order, the winner can choose from a list of random URs I found in the order.

This way, I don’t have any influence over the winning number. The winner might know they won before I do, and I think that’ll be kind of cool.
