I kind of feel like we're at a chicken little moment here.

It may take some work, but I dont think the sky is falling.

I think it may take some doing, but trading with newer players seems like a great place to start.

I do worry a bit that people might do something like offering a Rare for a monster bit to new players, when it's worth much more now.

That happened to me in the 2016 gen con. I traded 4 monster bits for my defenders set and a charm of enlightenment. Kicking myself now because I could use those bits for another bead.

If it makes you feel better, I think you got an okay deal at the time. Today, not so much. Nobody had any way of knowing CoE was going to drop and bits were going to double or more, all in a week.

Did I miss something regarding the Charm of Enlightenment? Is it nerfed?

I think part of its value was supported by LoDs, which dont need it anymore.

Technically, still needed until Origins. But if you aren't playing at GHC or Pax South, that may be a moot point.

Funny, every time I mentioned LoDS as one reason to reprint it, I was told by some that there were so many more Coe than LoDS that the LoDS shouldn't have any impact on it's value or demand.

That's not a bad trade. Up until the recent drop of WIS requirement on Lenses of Divine Sight I would have done that same trade.

It only had two uses. One was +4 to will saves. The other was allowing the use of LoDS. I guess it was being used for both because I also assume there were a lot more of the charms than the lenses. But then again a lot of those charms are probably sitting in the closets of players who don't really trade tokens.

Now at just +4 to will saves I don't think the Charm of Enlightenment is very valuable. Not bad for a rare of course.

I'd trade for a few of them. It should be really valuable, if not nerfed, when the Wis allows additional beads.

I'm glad i'm not the only one that didn't think that was such a bad trade.

I would've done it. I remember gladly trading 'useless' bits for weapons and other gear the 1st few years I played. It was a meaningful/value trade at the time. Now i can sit back and go not worth it but where i was at then i got stuff i needed more then and there vs might be useful later bit.

I still use enlightenment in grind just for the extra saves.

I don't mind the extra bits this year in recipes. Seems like a glut has been around. Just a shock of expectations for some of us.

I'd like to go back to seeing bits or GP equivalent myself as that would feel more approachable for folks who don't have stockpile bits and GP. That way majority of stuff pulled could be used in transmutes. Especially for anything lower than relic.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
