TOPIC: Well, I wasn't contacted...

So if someone is looking for me I have freedom to do runs anywhere!

This year I am making an edit to my normal form of party equipment. I grabbed 10 badge holders and will sort my gear into them. I'll use the card to record stats and pull out tokens as needed.

Should you need me you should still have my contact number TD staff.

The forum is really ineffective for me to use for volunteer stuff. First of all, you all use forum names. I don't even know WHO has the issue unless I spend time tracking down what your real name is. Then, people get irritated and complain if I address their issue on the forum, even if the question was asked there.

I know fully well about the email function. I know Lori has my cell number to contact me in case of emergency DM being needed. I never got a schedule time, never confirmed anything, or otherwise got informed that I was picked as a volunteer in any format.

I also have a user name that is me instead of "Herring the Red".

The last message I got was May 10th and no schedule of any format.

I'll shoot Lori another email anyways to be safe. I already have my badge though.

Arthur - another suggestion, I did NOT volunteer one year (2013) but they were short handed so I ask if they wanted me to step in and help. They took me up on my offer.

Email Lori is the best solution.

I would suggest if you don't get an answer just, when you arrive at GENCON and go to the volunteer meeting on Wed night to see if they can use you still.

lori is dealing with hundreds and hundreds of volunteers...she cant remember every little thing
of who said who could do what ...as a sub/fillin
she is working hard to adjust to people constantly changing schedules...my advice, is email her more than once..and just do random check ins
if you have Facebook add the TD volunteers page..she posts a lot on there too

Definitely show up - there is always a need for volunteers. Last year we had a brand-new volunteer fill in as an emergency DM and she was terrific. There are always no-shows.

That is a given. But until then I have freedom to plan for anything I want to initially.
