TOPIC: Feedback

Feedback 9 years 7 months ago #1

Some of the volunteers and staff for TD encouraged us to give feedback. So here is my contribution.

First let me start with the main thing that prompted me to want to give feedback. In the last room of Zephyr (Combat) in my run there was a GM that was absolutely amazing. He was on the ball with rules, process, time management, organization, etc. He was also very enthusiastic and made that room VERY fun.

There were some great coordinating volunteers in the prep rooms as well.

Now a few of my gripes. The first and foremost are the technical difficulties. Three in particular come to mind. The two biggest tech issues I saw were in the Zephyr run. Both puzzles that included the tubes had issues with the seal of the tubes to the pipes and thus caused suction issues. We could never seem to get the ball to flow smoothly through the contraption. The ball also stopped flashing pretty much every time making it so we couldn't find where it was. The eggs in the viper den did not work all that well either. It would either not change when the wand was over the egg or it would change twice. It was a bit frustrating but not too bad.

Latex - I am glad that the volunteers warned us that there were latex tubes in the dungeon but it was still problematic. Two of my friends in my group had latex allergies. In one room it was near impossible to complete unless you had a full group holding up these tubes so it was difficult without them contributing and probably less fun for them. Also despite them not participating in those rooms they left the dungeon and had reacted to the latex.

Medusa - Quite simply the Medusa fight turned all but three of us into stone with no way for us to reconcile that. It's kind of a bummer when one natural 1 on a save kills you.

Did you by chance voice your concerns of the Latex issue to Stu/Jeff while you were on site? I spoke with Stu after my run because I too am allergic and had to sit out of the pipe rooms. Thankfully I did not have a reaction from just being in the room.

I would be curious to hear how he handled your situation.

We did not. We weren't quite sure who we would talk to.
