I think it is people can't wait until
Xmas morning to open gifts.
An extra rage for a barbarian won't alter a build.
An extra sneak attack for rogue wouldn't alter a build.
Again. I just don't see it.

Seeing the card/abilities beforehand will make a significant difference in which tokens you equip.

Does the Drunken Master have the "Wire Work" ability? Might not want to build your Prestige Monk around the Gloves of Flying Fist then. Does the Assassin have a First Round Surprise Attack? Redesign your token load-out to take advantage of different boots or hood. Does Prestige Barbarian get double damage with 2-handed weapons? Swap out your shield, bring in 2-handed weapon, and all the stats change again.

Out of courtesy to the Coaches (and for the same reasons Druegar mentions in the OP) I'd like Rod holders to know ahead of time, so they can plan their character & prepare their stats accordingly.

If Jeff wants to leave the "surprise" for the last week, I'll understand... But please don't leave the surprise ' til the Coaching room. Coaches don't like surprises, or surprised players who suddenly swap out equipment.

Nicely summed up Raven. Yes, there are things to plan even if the stats remain the same.

It would also be helpful for DMs to see the classes and their abilities. They don't need to memorize them, since it will only be a small percentage of players using them, but they should at least get the chance to review them so they are not caught by surprise.

I still have to argue my artifact every year
even with a printed out laminated sheet too

after what Raven said, I think they should be released early

Yeah, the artifacts are another headache for the DMs. There's only a handful of them, but they have such significant effects on the game.

So the voucher is just something (piece of paper, badge stamp, whatever) that says I can play a sub-class, you won't actually be given the new card until you are in the coaching room correct? Some of the discussion in this thread earlier made it sound like people thought they were showing up to the coaching room with new character card in hand. I'd hate if that was the method since there could still be a conflict in characters once reaching the room. What would I do if I walk in with my shiny new sub-class paladin and someone else has already picked up the paladin card?

Just trying to make sure I, and everyone else, are on the same page...

Yep. I think it was announced that it will be a certificate which you take with you, and can choose to use (or not) once you know what class you are playing.

I wonder if anyone will keep a voucher or two as keepsakes. They will certainly be scarce, because I'd imagine nearly all of the 80 or so of them will be turned in. :)

i have a few i can get and less than 37 I can make
it will probably depend on the runs/classes you can get and timing, if all vouchers will be turned in

Just in case anyone was curious, if you use a voucher to play a sub-class, you will not get to keep that voucher as a souvenir.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .
