The major change is the addition of damage type icons. The coaches will circle the appropriate icon if that character can deal that type of damage, but the sub-types will not be totaled*. In the example at the bottom, the barbarian's total damage bonus is 12. That 12 includes both Fire and Darkrift. To accommodate the addition of these icons, the damage columns have been widened and the base numbers have been moved from the upper left (Marcia) to the upper middle (Mike).

Not all damage types are represented. This is deliberate. It was felt that the missing ones are so infrequently used that their inclusion caused more clutter than they were worth.

The Special Abilities columns have been modified as well, but that's pretty straight forward.

*True Grind DM/Coaches may sub-total the specific types of damage, but this procedure will not be implemented in the 2-hour adventures.

Wasn't knowledge of those symbols a puzzle room last year XD

Its cool and I don't mind from a coaching perspective (over all I support more detail) but honestly I cant see non grind GMs using it (not to slam any GMs who may be reading this).

EDIT:Might be a good idea to add the symbols to the players guide too if their not in there already.

Second EDIT: What damage type is the star?

It's nice to know that I'm upper middle :)

Regarding the Cabal Bonus column, can that possibly be more generic? I'd love for the overall spell damage / to Hit / healing bonuses to be captured on the party card. It costs us a lot of time each room showing the DM our various tokens that enhance spell damage and healing numbers. We've got Greater Mistletoe, Eldritch 2-Item Set healing bonus, and several items that add to damage spells hit or damage totals.

Yes

Please post that suggestion in the thread requesting Players Guide comments.

Are you channeling Chandler Bing there? If not, please specify what you mean by "more generic".

For the record, the Cabal bonus is exactly the same as it was last year.

That's something we can discuss for next year. In the interim, if you have a healing/damage bonus, I would suggest asking your coach to record it in one of the two Other Notes cells for your character(s).

That does have a Bing ring to it! :)

By more generic, I meant having it capture all spell damage / to hit / healing bonuses instead of just from cabal. I guess you're right that we could have the coach capture it on the notes block. Do you think the DM's would be OK with that or would we still need to show the tokens?

As long as it was in the same handwriting as all the other info on the party card, it should be fine. But it wouldn't hurt to have your damage* bonus tokens handy as backup.

*I should have specified this in my earlier post. DMs don't need to know your healing bonus since that's all player-tracked.

That is good to know! That means that I don't have to have my Rod and Supreme Rings plus the Lenses of Divine Sight for both my Cleric and Druid handy to show the GM - I'd rather those were safely tucked away in binders we are carrying. :)

Multiple questions from 2 current threads running. Does each player need a party card and character card when they arrive to play or are they available in the tavern?

Thanks
Eric

The character cards are available when you arrive to play. But, if you want to generate your character stats and/or a party card (which the coaches greatly appreciate) you would want to do that before arriving for your adventure.

No
There is one official party card per party, not per player. Your party card will be filled out by your coach at the start of your adventure.

The character card will be provided for you when you enter the coaching room. Each party member selects one of 12 different classes to play. Duplicate classes are not allowed.

As Mike said, coaches will love you if you come with a pre-printed character sheet. If you have a desktop/laptop (not mobile) version of Excel, I highly recommend using this awesome character/party generator .
