Yes and Yes.

This year the prices went way up but it looks like they are actually having scripted and GMed missions rather than just free play.

I am excited about AEG's Big Game Night, it is always the best swag ever and lots of fun games. I even managed to win a tourney one year that got me my own card in Nightfall :)
Fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun

If any one ends up with an open slot for Artemis, keep me in mind. Looks like fun, and I would love to try it out if I don't end up with conflicts.

I've always been intrigued by Artemis, but not enough to try it in a random group.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I like it but I only play it when my friends get together.
Other than that no interest. We have a great time when we play

Another +1 to Artemis. It's just as fun with random peeps, I feel. Don't hold back just because you can't control everyone. :) Edit: You can apparently buy the Artemis software and run it yourself at home on a local LAN. Sounds pretty cool but I don't have enough home friends who would be into that. At one point I think they mentioned working on network compatability, so you could team up over internets. But I haven't heard the latest on that.

There was a different "larp-like" dungeon-delve last year, which was foam boffers and used some very simplified Nero rules. It was quite a workout! Pretty fun too, though nowhere near as high production values as TD. I tried it both as a PC and as part of the monsters team, and found monster more fun! It is also a much cheaper ticket.

The wise money is on Wizards releasing the next edition of D&D at this year's GenCon, though some recent rumors have raised the possibility it might not be quite ready in time... :(

Werewolves, yes! Wicked fun as well. Most any larp-like game is enjoyable, though be careful you don't accidentally sign up for a running-and-jumping one if that isn't your thing.

Ask EN429 about randoms in Artemis. Right, Captain? Captain? Captain. Captain. Captain! Captain!

What?

I typically play a round of ADGNEPSEF555 with friends at some point (Sat at 4pm this year). Sometimes it can be a little chaotic with all the competing character personalities, but it is always fun.

Essentially everyone is a kid enrolled at an elementary school and represents an archetype from cartoons and anime. Characters are pre-generated and have links to a few other characters. The last two years I was: an evil witch girl, and uh... Christopher Robin as a Communist Pokemon trainer.

I got to play Artemis at WYC and it was fun and I can see how more fun it would be with a full group of fiends.

I do boffer larps every week so they are less interesting to me but they can be a lot of fun and prepare to sweat. They are high energy. First timers usually have a lot of fun. After that its just weather or not you like the thing. I happen to like it, I play Amtgard which is similar to Nero. The Nero folks usually put in a decent effort but their budget is very limited so don't expect high production values.

Oddly, i'm excited about the dance this year as its the first theme the've had in years that shoudln't suck.

Bit self serving... but I'm excited about Plinko. Will be a brand new board and might include some special effects :) we'll see how much work I can get done.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!
