Brad Mortensen wrote: Asking Jeff to invest in four cameras, uploading photos and sorting out which party gets which link could be a big hassle. I think it would make sense for anyone who wants a photo to pull up their own camera app and show the "click" button to the volunteer and let the players deal with the uploading and sharing.

I think you misinterpreted my suggestion. Since all of the events end up in the same treasure room, it wouldn't be 4 cameras, it would be 1. At most 2. A small reliable digital camera is also like 100 bucks. Not to mention I have a handful I'd willingly give if cost was really the issue. And the wouldn't be multiple URL's for the pictures. You just post them all collectively on the TD website, and you look for your picture in the list based on the date/time on the photo.

Since nobody seems to think my idea was a good one I'll go ahead and drop it though. I just can't wait to see how much havoc is actually caused by people running back and forth with camera phones and watching the Poor NPC try to juggle them all. I think it would be just as simple to construct a cool backdrop somewhere in the storyscape and let people figure out photos themselves away from the wrap-up area.

There would have to be at least two rooms for the end of the runs, one for each side. With the way they are staggered, I would be more inclined to think 4 rooms. That being said, it might be easier to take one picture and have everyone just share it from the TD sight.

I really have a problem with some of the changes.

Each player will be given a slip of paper with an unique code that they can use inside their TD Forum/XP account to give themselves credit for a particular TD event after Gen Con Indy is over. Players can still earn free tangible premiums (like the goodies obtained by hitting 5th, 7th and 8th levels) via the TD Store when their Forum account qualifies for them.

I've had so many problems with this forum over the years, this is my 5th account here. In fact my account playing TD at Gencon even links to a yahoo account I no longer have and is no longer active.

HTH do I change that? So I'm not getting screwed out of any reward for completing my runs?

Now don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a code you enter your self when its convenient for you. Makes doing multi runs closer together much easier. But can't we just do the reward there?

Gotta admit, Shady Veldrin has a point about fumbling around with 10 phones trying to take all those pictures.

I know at Walt Disney World (and other places), they snap photos of you and give you a little card to see them online later. You wouldn't even have to go that far, instead just make it known the website where the photos would be uploaded. Then have a digital camera or 2 stationed somewhere in the storyscape. I wouldn't even put them in the final treasure room. Uploading them once a day or something. Seems like this might be an easier solution.

Maybe even just have a photo area in the storyscape, that's cool, and then just have an NPC juggle the cellphones and take photos, but not in the treasure room. You still let folks make a happy memory, just doesn't bog down the ending.

Personally I hope we don't go to a public camera model, I have at least one friend who wouldn't want to be in the pics if they were online. It also creates additional work for Jeff and co (not to mention additional work the website team needs to do to support the hosting which may lead to additional hidden costs.) Also what happens if a camera/battery/memory card fails/gets lost. Honestly I'd rather trust me cell phone, which if I hand someone and ask to take a picture with I wouldn't consider them liable for since it was my desision to hand it to them.

Re leveling up mid year, I'm likely going to enter my xp into the system right away with my cell if the website is ready.

Re picking up leveling perks at the store I wonder how possible it would be to have an internet terminal there where the clerk could just check your level before giving you your freebies (or just have it be on the player to show they qualify by cell/printout/etc) the population of level 5+ people isn't that large.

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

If you are friends, why do you have to take the same picture 10 times. Won't you FB, twitter, text , email, google+, etc it.
And if you are not friends, couldn't they text or email you that.

I don't know just me thinking outside the box.

claiming perks at the TD store at gencon is a bit tricky. you cant just give stuff out to people that qualify, you have to track who has claimed their perks. without tracking, a person could keep going back every day (or after a shift change) and keep getting the same thing.
im not saying this shouldn't be figured out. I feel strongly that it would be far better to get rewards at gencon as you earn them, but it is more complicated than a simple 'yup, your 7th level, here is your badge holder.'
and I am thinking more about the badge holder than the others. I am really hoping that someday jeff offers a replacement program. even if it requires turning in your old beat-up badge holder AND paying full price for the new one, I will do it. I wear my TD badge holder to every con I go to (~5/year), and it wont last forever.

Good point. In our 10 person groups, we'll probably just take photos on 2-3 devices, and then share them afterwards.
