It really is luck of the draw. My first Golden Ticket I got on my tiny little $250 UR order. I was broke that year and just couldn't afford more. The second one I traded for.

Would it be logistically possible to allow for some training/shakedown runs for vols on Wednesday. Or maybe some trailing activity/vol big buyer only runs late at night or on Sunday afternoon. Not sure if that would be fesible from a scheduleing perspective though. In theory if we figured out participation on the forums we could always just pay with genetics.

Random is random. First year I bought 8 250 packs slowly and on tha last 10 pack of my last order got a GT. this past year I bought mine and my fiancée got hers in may with our last order. Of note in my first year at 2k I got zero random purps.

I'm hoping that I will get my tokens today 2/4/2014. Then it's a finger numbing task to open 480 10 packs and will be praying to the random gods!!!

maybe when the contract is up(if there is one) with Gencon, move it to WYC(or another con). Skip Gencon all together
TPTB(of Gencon) kind of rubbed me the wrong way this year

Origens perhaps.

Ditto.

Also, I am worried as well of getting runs this year. We like getting slots of 10 in due to team/family size, the ability to use the Gertz backpack as a team, and to be able to pre-plan what characters we will be playing. To offset this problem occurring we have built Dansco books for all 12 characters. We put a stat page in the back and if we have to play a character that we didn't plan on we can change books quickly - stats included since we don't change out the tokens. If that means we run with a less than optimum character so be it, the run is still fun.

Not yet. WYC is a small convention but it is growing! If it continues on the same growth pattern it would still be 5+ years out before it could even hope to support True Dungeon.

Then again, if certain adjustments can be made to the WYC structure and there was a TD event that time could be shortened drastically.

Contracts.

As to tokens arriving, I freaking hate the USPS tracking system sometimes. Been watching my tokens supposedly sit in Carbondale since Sunday. I am sure that they have moved someplace and the site just has not updated. I had my pack of tokens for two days one year before the tracking said they had been delivered.

It isn't always like that but it seems to do that with every TD package I ever track.

Donald,

I would suggest getting the largest Dansco book and just putting the tokens that need to change in the back two pages. I have mine setup with six pages and when I looked at my character I really only need to change a few tokens to make a viable caster!

Yes, that setup eliminates Monk, Rogue and Bard but it covers all the rest just fine. If you have more than one person, which it sounds as if you do, A second book could have the back two pages setup for swap out for the a fore mentioned classes.

That would eliminate a lot of extra weight.

Jeff Martin wrote: Yeah...the growth of TD and Gen Con Indy has been amazing. I'm actually a bit worried about the availability of tickets for token collectors and volunteers in 2014. A few years we have run into BIG issues with volunteers who had their schedules before event reg, but they were not able to find TD tickets around their provided schedule. This has caused MAJOR scheduling issues, and this was when we only had two dungeons. I shutter to think what could happen this year. It could actually be a huge problem to overcome and manage at the event.

I'll make a new thread about this now. Thanks!

It's making me nervous too. I put in for full time volunteer status this year and find myself wondering if that was wise.
