Crazy as it sounds, I did a google search for downtown indianapolis real estate a few months ago for a laugh. There were condos not more than 5 blocks from ICC for as little as 500k.

Your welcome.;)

I guess I could move to Indy, ramp up my business, hire a few more people, scour the town for more clients. In a few years I could probably afford that. Then again I would lose ALL my free time and probably not even be able to attend GenCon anymore.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

Is there any kind of collage/university in indy. You could rent it to students 10 months per year and just schedule your yearly cleanup/inspection the week before the con.

Butler, University of Indianapolis, IUPUI.

Yeah, your best bet would be the IUPUI crowd as it would be closest to the ICC. Butler may have more house buying options and better paying students. University of Indianapolis is on the south side, that would prob be as far as you would want to go.

C'Mon, there is an adjacent train station to the ICC, when will there be frequent reliable trains from Cincy and Chicago?

What century is this???

I had a friend take the train down from Chicago last year. Except for the bloody awful schedule, it went well enough.

I have good news and bad news to some of you. I am at the Crown Plaza this year. I also just canceled a room thru Hotels.com due to getting this. Good luck.

William Koogler wrote: Yeah, the downtown hotels are pretty much a lost cause at this point. If you look you can find some non-bloc housing outside it though. I managed to grab a room at the Wyndham near the airport. Downside is that I have to take the shuttle to the convention center. Upside is that I only have to pay $50 a night on a $189 standard room(thank you hotwire.com) .
Next up, plane tickets.

Thanks for the info Jahrl! :)
That's way better than the GenCon price.

All Significant Others worth their salt know well enough to stay away from the would-be registrants until they either hear the exultant shouts of victory, or the bitter moans of defeat. Then they can come celebrate... or flee for the hills while angry gamers/comic fans vent their wrath in streams of vitriol on the forums.

 Too true for the clip from Adeya and the comment from Raven.

I'd add there was at least one primal rage roar regarding housing this year.
