Best wishes to all for the new year. The acquaintances and friends I've met through TD are warm pockets in my life. I recall fondly many experiences we've shared together.

I don't think heroes are born and I don't think you can be "made" into a hero. Heroes seem to be average ordinary people who simply persist in doing the hard thing in extraordinary circumstances. I hope we all have opportunities to be quiet heroes to people around us in the coming year. Our world needs lots of heroes. I hope we all choose the hard paths that lead to success rather than the quick fixes that lead to bondage. Samwise is my role model for 2014.
