In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: Token Slots

Token Slots 10 years 7 months ago #1

Thought this was more general topic than about tokens, so...

Is there some type of guide regarding equipping your character for tokens? Some things are obviously like you can only wear one helmet and carry one shield. And the Player's Guide covers a few like a maximum of five Ioun Stones. But other things I, as a new player, just can't figure out. For example, how many rings can I wear? How my earcuffs? (I'd guess two, but I've seen people in the real world wearing more.) How many holy symbols? How many amulets? Is their a guide out there that tells me that information?

That's a fair question.

There should be a figure in the token guide or related book that shows it.

Two rings, two earcuffs, 5 ioun, 3 charms. Everything else, one.
But a single shield can be in two slots at once: melee offhand and ranged offhand.
Some items don't take a slot (mistletoe, holy symbol, thieves tools, etc)
Fun, huh?

But I agree, online character generator is great at sorting out the bonuses and keeping you honest.

This is helpful to new players like the one who asked the question. They should put this or something like it in the appropriate guide book.

You may equip up to: Some items are slotless , including all GP-value, ammunition, potions, scrolls, and trade/reserve tokens.

No matter how many slots an item may fit in, other than weapons (including monk bracer-weapons), you may not equip more than one item with the same name. E.g., a ranger may wield two +1 Silver Short Swords but nobody may equip more than one Ioun Stone Beryl Prism .

If a token's text specifically states only one may be worn or equipped (e.g., Bracer of Quivering Palm ), the token's text supersedes the general rule.

Some Artifacts may break these limits.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

The Token Guide also contains this and other good info about tokens.
