Welcome Athos - I'm glad you got to experience both runs and Grind this year! I think it is one of the best sets of events TD has put on yet
True Dungeon 101: Huge thanks who ran the guys who ran the session on Thursday afternoon.
You went to TD 101? Great call! The DDA always does a good job of preparing new players for the dungeon... and I'm not just saying that because of my close affiliation with Dungeon Delvers Anonymous
Lycan afoot (puzzle) 1037am Friday: Huge thanks to the coach in that room who really helped me to see how character generatons works in TD.
The Coaching staff this year were great weren't they? And I think the new coaching set up let them do so much more with the short amount of time they were given.
Btw, can anyone tell me the solution to the dryad tree puzzle? We figured out the word clue in the mirror, but couldn't figure out how to do it.
If you PM me, I can tell you the solution. I'd rather not post it here, because sooner or later TD always does a "Riddle Reveal" (usually a slide-show or podcast) which gives all the answers, and I don't want to spoil it for people awaiting the Big Reveal
True Grind 9pm Friday: Raven, you were so incredibly patient with the noob who had done 1 run and was asking about what this "True Grind" even was. I can't remember the name of the other DM in there, but he was also very patient with me. To the guys on that run, thanks for agreeing to bring me along so I could experience it after your 10th guy fell out.
I'm very glad you enjoyed the event. You did great for someone being thrust into the frenetic world of Grind! Eric (the guy who wrote the Grind scenario, and who ran your party through the Boss monster combat) is also an amazing DM.
Huge thanks to the woman running the wait list Saturday night. You were super helpful to me in explaining how the wait list works. I could tell you and the volunteer director were getting hammered keeping the volunteers running around that night.
Yes, the Wait List folks always have a tough job and aren't able to make everyone happy, but I know they bust their butts to make it work out for as many people as possible. They deserve every shout-out they get
We look forward to having you back in future years Athos, and if you ever want to get your feet wet with a little volunteering, you will have even more chances to meet the great crew that makes TD run year after year.
