In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: 3 hours to go

Re: 3 hours to go 10 years 11 months ago #73

I managed to get 2 Grind tickets for Friday 2-3, but they did go fast. The biggest problem I had was I waited till the button to appear as clickable, and clicked it. I got a hourglass cursor (actually the little circle thingy but you know what I mean) and 30-45 seconds later the button was clickable again. I waited thinking I was still being put in line but finally gave up after a minute and clicked again and got put in queue.

It really sucks when the system rejects your click to get in queue and you end up 3100 in line to get tickets. I believe the same exact thing happened last year, but I was only getting seminars and stuff and not buying for a group like this year.

Same exact thing happened to me and my friend. WE lost out on everything on our wishlist. I managed to spend 4 hours patchfilling TD runs and did okay in the end due to the plethora of tickets, but it wasn't fun.

I clicked at just the second the button became available, watched the hour glass for about a minute, and then I was approximately number 3000 in line. I don't think the system screwed up for you. I think you were submitted, and if you had refreshed, you would have seen where you were in line.

I put 39 runs into my wishlist hoping to get 2. I got 3. I was not going for whole runs though - I was only looking for 6 tickets per run. I got exactly the runs I wanted, but I did put them higher in my list. I also told them to reject runs I couldn't get all 6 tickets for, so that may be why I got so few.

I think the system works well if you just looking to buy a few tickets for only a couple of runs. But if you are trying to get huge numbers of full slots, that's tough. I think they only way to do that successfully is have everyone in the group putting in a wishlist and then comparing notes to decide which ones to keep.

I'm pretty sure it did. It didn't register a number for me at all on that first click. It was only after my friend submitted again and got 3k that I followed suit and got 3500.

There are about 10 people mentioning the same issue on the GC forums, Henry. They asked everyone who had this shoot the info over to customer service so they can fix it for next year. They wanted time, browser, OS etc.

That was my experience as well. I wound up at 3700 something.

I had a group of 4 going on this.
2 of our members had spinning circles without a number as decribed above.
Reclicking the icon worked the second time on one, uncertain on the other because she refreshed as well.

I also noticed the queue number would get "stuck" and refreshing the browser would adjust it.

Other oddities was I didn't always keep pace as I should. One of my friends was almost 100 places ahead of me exactly. At one point he jumped ahead by almost 300 places and ended up finishing ahead of me by the same amount.

All in all it worked out but mostly due to there being 4 full runs with the extended hours.

Did anyone else notice VIG specific runs? I encountered one when I was trying to add it to my wish list.

I saw those. I assumed they were actually the pre-buyers but wasn't certain.

I saw the 3 VIG runs, I don't think they were the same as the pre-buys.

I also had the spinning hourglass problem, I wanted to refresh but was afraid it would put me later in the queue. After about 2-3 minutes it finally told me I was 3319 in line. So I wasn't happy but I ended up okay as I got what I wanted other than Grind.
