Dave,

So if someone said they were not involved in melee, I forgot about them, until I had killed the rest of the party

LOL! Which room are you going to be a DM in? :P

Personally, I think the +saves is more valuable (slightly) than +AC. -Douglas

Weird. I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I'd rather have a +1 AC than a +1 save. When fighting monsters, that AC bonus helps every time it rolls to hit you. A bonus to save only helps at the time of the potential disaster, and those were less frequent and were one-time events. It's not like the wind tries multiple times to knock you off the bridge, and the trapped crypt will only spray poisonous gass at you once. Lizardmen are another matter entirely. They just don't stop.

Raven,

Good points certainly. My thinking was that when you make a save, it is usually for something very bad, like as you mentioned, falling off a bridge to your death, resisting a potentially deadly poison, paralysis, turning to stone, etc.

But it would probably be accurate to say that AC is more valuable to "combat" classes and less so to say a Wizard.

Food for thought,
Douglas

Hey all,

The next version of the price guide is coming on Friday and the discussion so far has gone a long way towards making it more accurate. There will also be some additional tokens added that were not in the first version and some additional statistics as well.

Does anyone else have input into the prices (relative and absolute) that they would like to share? You can post or send to me directly.

Thanks!

In V7:

Is Chain +5 AC really supposed to be 40 GP,
while Banded + 6 AC is 30 GP?

Seems backwards to me.

George - Douglas is more the expert here but looking at it I can see why this happens.

Chain is the best BLING armor a Bard can wear...that makes the Chain value a bit higher...also Banded is not the top armor for any class...so it suffers a bit.

Not sure if there are any other reasons and I'm not 100% sure this isn't a typo - but from my perspective Chain deserves a bit of a rise for being the best Bard Garb.

Gary,
Once Jeff answers how much of each type of armor is going to be in the "Free Armor" drawing we will know better.

But as of right now, I would very happy to trade 3 sets of Chain for 4 sets of banded. (actually I don't have 3 sets of chain yet, but I would be happy with that trade.)

Gary is absolutely correct. But if you guys disagree with the pricing, input is always welcomed. :)

WHOO HOO - see everyone I can be right once and a while. ;)

Chain is valued higher by this player...let the prices stand as posted.

And just to reiterate, the Price Guide is just that... it is a guide to help people with pricing. Ultimately, prices are going to come from what you negotiate with whomever you are trading with.

But it does try to get in the middle and approximate what the majority would pay and it bases many of the prices on previous trades.

And as always, trade input is welcome. :D
