artisan tokens 17 years 8 months ago #109

I'm new to TD (and therefore tokens in general), but I've got one of the artisan tokens from this year. Anyone have an idea of what it's worth (in GP or $)?
It's worth whatever people are willing to pay for it. It'll depend a lot on which token it is and whether the person who's interested is a collector. For instance, I've decided to take a pass on artisan tokens completely so for me, it's worth about as much as a circular piece of kindling. For others, ecspecially if it's the one item they wanted and wasn't able to acquire, it might be worth a mint. Never know until you solicit offers on it.

First of all, which one? They sold from a few hundred gp to several thousand, depending on the item.

Did the Elven Armband not go for 40gp? It was listed on the wall at 40gp, but maybe that was just the highest open bid, and it hadn't been updated for the sealed bidding. How much did it go for?

And yes, depending on the artisan token, and whether or not I really want it, I'd trade lots of gp or several red tokens to get it.
Great use of the avatar as a billboard! Really catches the eye.
David (S.)

Oh, the Elven Armband is for sale? How much did the one at auction go for? We all thought it went for 40gp. I would gladly pay five times that :) I didn't catch that the avatar was the ad, since Nekura (I think) uses random tokens for his avatar.
It did go for 40...

I was thinking earlier of another artisan token...the one you got Jason for 5300 or so. I tried to find you to see if you were really bidding on it - but did not before it was time to bid.

I would say the armband is worth 3-4000 gold...personally I would have bid 5000 for myself - but then found out Heidi our tavern wench leader wanted it...

Kith - if you can put a gold piece price on it - maybe you can get a bunch of us to bid on it for Heidi as she really wanted the EArmband.

G

*Blush* Awww, you guys are so sweet. I really never intended anyone to pay over 1000 for it in order to get it for me.

question about a couple swords, does a scimitar count as a short sword (for things like a ranger using a long sword and scimitar)?

and the ultra-rare nightshade's +2 short sword, what does that sword symbol mean (in place of one of the damage numbers)?
this is not a signature.

Hi,

I've got a question about the Ioun Stones - it was asked in another thread, but not really answered. Do they take the helm slot, or are the "free" and take no slot?

Thanks!
Mike

Here is one more...

How are the PROOF tokens different than normal run tokens???

Thanks,
Gary

Scimitars are the size of long swords.

The symbol on Nightshade's token indicates that a Sneak Attack has occurred even if done in normal melee -- thus doing extra damage. If that symbol is hits DURING a Sneak Attack, then the sneak attack damage is doubled. The exact ruling will be in the Token Guide for 2007.

Ioun Stones do not take up a slot. Up to five different Ioun Stones can be circling a character's head at one time, but multiple Stones of the same type do not stack. This 5 stone limit will come in to play in future years.
