TOPIC: Ways to Carry Tokens Within the Dungeon

Hey all,<br /><br />I noticed this in another thread and I thought I would transfer this here so that people can have a specific thread to discuss ideas. I also wanted to share some of the things I have come up with as well to help with my own token collection and I am more than willing to help other people by making them provided materials are provided.<br /><br />Military Issue Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) Pants - I used this in my first ever True Dungeon run and had my pocket of healing items as well as some sundry ioun stones.. etc. This allowed me to know which pocket my items were in and I was also able to bribe the Rogue with a shiny as well. They have 6 deep pockets.<br /><br />Fishing/Tactical Vests - These are also an amazing idea in order to add pockets and are easy to obtain. Sometimes it can be hard to find a tac vest that will adjust to those of us who are smaller but sometimes you can luck out.<br /><br />Also the mantles etc. - I know people  have made these and I'm not sure of their current availability, but if someone provides me with a single token page and some cording, I can make you an 8-slot belt for your armor/rings that don't get taken out often as well as a wrist "sheath" for your weapon to keep it at the ready. Those of you who have known me, may have seen my Ranger setup from 2008. This is what I am talking about here. For those who may not know about it, I will post pics ASAP so you can see what I am talking about. <br /><br />So what other ideas are out there? I'd like to see what we, as Token Collectors can come up with and are willing to share with others.

I've made several posts across this forum on this topic, but I'll recap them here.<br /><br />Hands down, my favorite carrying method/item is a Tool Band-It . However, each Tool Band-It will carry a maximum of 12 tokens.<br /><br />For larger needs, I can recommend an Expandable Jewelery Pouch , Stacking Containers (but only if labeled), and/or Pop-Top Tubes .

My only problem with containers like the pouch is that I, myself, am prone to leaving the actual container somewhere. While I know we have a history for honesty amongst both volunteers and patrons, that's still my only downfall.

In my case, the pouch was physically attached to my clothing. One could also use a caribeaner to clip it to a belt-loop.

Are the strings long enough to not have to detach it because honestly if you are taking it off and on there's still a risk with me.

<br />I'm the sash maker around here (Hi Seraphina - my favorite mimic!).<br /><br />I've got the pattern written up for anyone that wants to make their own.  I'll also be getting back to work making some to sell soon.  I'd love to get feedback on what worked and what didn't.  Hands down, I know I need to use velcro to close the hidden pocket.  This year I also made the sashes with a little more weight to them (usually a thin but stiff stuffing).  That helps keep them from sliding down your front too much, but it still happens, given the weight of the tokens.  I *could* counterweight the back, but I wonder if the whole thing would get too heavy.  Maybe I should just put a pocket back there where people could add something as a counterweight if they wanted....<br /><br />Any other ideas?<br /><br />binia<br />

I've been very happy with my belt pouches. They are actually $5 black camera cases with velcro fasteners.  They are easy to open but stay closed when they are supposed to be. They never get in the way and I don't have to worry about losing them.  If you really cram them you can fit about 20 tokens in each. You can dedicate one to healing, one to ammo, one to potions, or whatever you need based on class. I carry 4 at a time, so that's up to 80 tokens right there if I wanted that many. If you always wear them in the same order, you can find the tokens you need pretty fast.<br /><br />I also wear cargo shorts or pants for the extra pockets. As with the pouches, I try and always put the same kind of tokens in the different pockets so they are easier to find when in the dungeon.

<br /><br />Yep! These serve the same purpose as the BDUs but I've found that the hip pockets aren't as deep in cargo pants as they are in BDUs.
