It doesn't. I was just bring that up as extra info. A lot of the filler stuff from Forgotten Realms still carries over to current versions. That is because it really doesn't have any real game play significance. It just gives you some things to add flavor and more detail to your game.

Like Dis said, it is loosely based on a set of rules with modifications. But as for what version is most closely resembles, it is a mix of various editions.
The primary rule edition found within TD is 3.5ed, as that was the mainstream at the time TD came into it's own.
But with that said, there have been elements taken from AD&D (like what weapons a monk can use).
It does not, in any way, have anything to do with 4ed (which would have cloaks and necklaces compete for the same slot, there are no at will powers, encounter powers, and daily powers, and a long list of other complications).
But like was said earlier, there is actually a lot of custom rules as well (like how armor stacks, effects stack, etc.) If you wanted to see it as anything see it as 3.5ed-lite.

Thanks, all, for the info. I like the rules mix scenario. Back in college, we played with a mix of 1st and 2nd ed. I had a lot of fun playing a half-orc fighter who specialized in unarmed combat (a la Oriental Adventures).
