I'd put a tiny "proof" at the top since it's possible for a UR that comes in a bag to be on a platinum back.

Kim

Historically officially, there were no URs on plat backs.

I also vote black... wouldn't hurt to have a tiny "proof" on the front. Am I right in saying, from a collectibility stand-point, that there is only one proof of a given UR? If so, is it first-come, first-served?
Legally... its questionable. Morally... its disgusting. Personally... I *like* it.

No, they send me a handful of each token as a proof. I can stipulate the color of the chip...so if you guys like the black token idea, then we can do that. I am not sure about having the tiny "proof" at the top though. It is okay that they are just backed with a black token? I just want them to be cool and fun.

Please let me know soon. Monday is the deadline. Thanks.

I don't think we'll need the word 'proof'. *We* know what a black back means - sounds awesome!

I really like the black back idea but I would be ok with plat as well since plat already signifies that the token is rarer than the gold version.

But I think BLACK proofs standing out is worth a try - and may push sales...I'm already thinking now about a BLACK back mace and a GOLD back mace!

Note to Jeff: consider doing the Mace in Pink, Purple, White, Yellow, Blue and Orange backs... Of course, they would all be proof types, that you'd need to spend $500 to get.
Black back gets my vote with no writing on the front.

i like the black back idea. having proof on them then becomes a mute point.

as long as there is an easier way to tell proofs apart from the regular UR's, than the first year. i'm still hunting for the last 2 of those for a set. =(

Okay...then we will go with the black tokens but the fronts will be identical to the regular UR tokens.

Cool. Sounds like it will be fun -- and neat to see some black tokens about. One last thing. We can't call them "black" -- they need a cooler name that is a metal like gold or platinum.

What about just calling them "iron"? I know that iron is traditionally a less expensive metal, but it fits well. I would almost say go with our current theme and call them "faerie-iron" but I am not sure. What about "obsidian" or even something like "Orc Iron" or "High Iron"?

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I think Obsidian is cool. I'd stay away from more complicated names or theme-oriented names, since you want a name that is "evergreen" and easy to say like Gold & Platinum. Onyx is cool also.
