I like the circlet of elemental mastery (I think it's too bad the wizard doesn't need to do a planes check for it), and I like the charm (has there been a reply to my earlier question re: the charm - does it apply to spells requiring a slide?), but I am leaning toward getting the crown for my wizard - an extra +1 to AC and immunity is pretty valuable.
I think I have to agree that the crown outvalues the circlet. I like the idea of the circlet, it's innovative, but for the TD wizard class to develop optimally, we are going to need lots more spells and/or scroll options. I would hate to see that skipped with the reasoning that we could have used the circlet to change fire to ice or acid.
Of all the traits of humanity, there is only one we do not share with other species, which sets us apart and makes us unique
-- the ability to imagine.

I do like the word "monster" in the ring of fire since it wont work in TA with that label. 2 points back for every attack would be much too overpowered.

I really don't see the circlet as being a UR as far as its value. It would make a good Rare, and I agree with Dis that it is innovative and could be used in creative ways- but it just doesn't stand up to the other URs. You could have a Ring of Frost (similar to the Ring of Fire) or something else as a replacement and move it to the Rare list this year or another year. (also, aesthetically, the pic for the circlet doesn't do it for me either)

As for the charm, I think it is ok with the "20" trigger... it makes people work for the extra tokens. I might also give it a generic +1 on all saves bonus to make it a little more "juicy" and back up the luck aspect.
Legally... its questionable. Morally... its disgusting. Personally... I *like* it.

and the boots are a re-make of the elvenkind boots in effect ( I believe) with a bumed up rarity.. It seems backwards.

These are really Boots of the Drow -- as they are Boots of Elvenkind only better because the attacker gets a +2 attack bonus.

I am sorry, but I cannot imagine any Drow willing to wear keebler shoes. You have no black biker boots with skulls on them for art? Or snakeskin/gatorskin boots?

I can let him take of pic of the Harley boots I wore when I played a Drow in 2005.

Is there a reason the Paladin shouldn't be able to use the Double Edged Sword?

Part of the intent of this item was to give the Fighter character a unique weapon that no other class can use.
Just my two cents, but I think the fact that the weilder draws the first targeted attack would lend itself to either the Paladin or the Fighter. If an item is class specific, I think there should be a decidedly good reason for that, not just because we feel the fighter needs his own weapon. As a LG character, I could easily see the Paladin "taking one for the team".

I think the desire to have the Fighter have a unique weapon, especially one that does extra damage, was behind this being Fighter only. I like the decision to make it Fighter-only.

so, just to be clear, you arent saying the paladin should get to use this weapon (because that would defeat the point of trying to create a fighter specific weapon), but just that it needs to feel more 'fighter-only'?
...which would be good in theory, any suggestions? i suggested the vicious sword in another thread (deals extra damage, weilder also takes some damage...i cant see a paladin using that).
