TOPIC: 2009 Common Tokens -- Feedback please!

Oops, we forgot to make the "500 CP token" look like the CP are actually CP.  We will fix that!  Oh, and the scroll in the Endure Elements token needs to be made the same size as others.<br /><br />Feedback, please.  And thanks!  We hope to have ALL of the tokens posted by Friday.<br /><br />[attachment deleted by admin]

I agree.  My first thought was of a pole that walked itself along the dungeon like a very thin, headless, unfuzzy caterpillar.<br /><br />

I like the looks of the Scrolls. <br /><br />Are Shuriken 1 use only?  It seems like they should be, but they don't say so. 

I agree with the comments noted above. My only additional comment is that the spyglass looks to be civil war vintage - a bit advanced for the era we are simulating.

Essences - might be easier to distinguish if they were all different colors blue/red/green maybe.  Cool little bottles, though.<br /><br />Pugio and Gladius are the same graphic?  Maybe make one smaller and at a different angle?<br /><br />Any class restrictions on the Obsidian Dagger?<br /><br />Spiked Buckler:  for text, how about Ranger only: can be used as offhand weapon.  Hmm... don't like that either.  I don't think you need to say "Short Sword" specifically, since the only thing it has in common with a ss is the damage wheel.  It's a weapon in its own right.<br /><br />Graphics are really nice - especially the Eagle Totem Armor and Faerie Water.  I also like the scrolls.  <br /><br />Looks awesome!<br /><br />

The Pugio is a short broad dagger - perhaps the art should be more like http://armillum.com/tienda/images/DEEPEEKA/pugioIII.jpg <br /><br />I know in our discussion on the Common items the Essences were defined as potions, need to say that perhaps in the Border area, above them, like was done this year for the various alcoholic beverages.<br /><br />For the spiked buckler - It depend on if only rangers can use it or not.  If it is ranger only, then put 'Ranger'  along the lower border like you do for other class restricted items.  Then note beneath the picture "must use in off-hand."  If it is not Ranger only then state, Ranger only: can be used in off hand.<br /><br />And I like the new scrolls style, my only concern is they take up more space (compared to the rolled parchment) so less text space is available on the token.<br /><br /><br /><br />

<br /><br />I like the new scroll style (looks like a Torah, though... maybe a new sub-class of cleric is going to show up?) as it looks less like a burrito. (I always think the old scrolls look like burritos...mmmm, cure light wounds.)<br /><br />Also, I noticed that the sickle was cut back to +2 versus Lycanthropes... is that the standard for "silver weapons"? I ask only because I have a silver dagger... <br /><br />2.  Yep, one per room - but it is double the healing of the Potion of Minor Healing.<br /><br />3.  It has damage 1-6 instead of a normal dagger damage of 1-4.  Not sure about class usage.

<br /><br />The rations are like other "gear" tokens, like the 10ft pole, 50ft rope, ink vial, mortar and pestle.  It could be used based on what your imagination allows.  Perhaps you could have used it in 2008 to bribe the giant, or test some liquid to see if it was acid, or well, you get the gist, but the rations this time around are simple "gear"

The aquamarine and the eagle totem armor look great.  Although I think the eagle totem armor is too good to be on a common.

The fireseed looks like an atomic fireball or cherry gobstoper.<br /><br />The goodberry looks sort of diseased with the odd coloring.<br /><br />It seems strange the flint is worth more than the rings in value, especially with the pictures for comparrison. <br /><br />The hard rations look like tree bark. I assume it's supposed to be some sort of meat jerky? Maybe all jerky looks like bark in a picture like this so there's not much you can do about it.<br /><br />The handle on the obsidian dagger looks odd. Maybe try to photoshop a better hilt onto it? As it stands, it doesn't look like a weapon exactly.<br /><br />The strap (?) on the shillelagh looks sort of odd. It's supposed to be a staff, right? Maybe just edit out the loop.<br /><br />Everything else looks pretty spiffy.
