2009 Ultra Rare Token Listing<br /><br /><br /><br />NEW! Plate Armor of Absorption:  AC +8  / -1 damage from all melee hits<br /><br />Questor’s Hat of Escape: Avoid any attack by jumping in hat (no treasure for that room / once per adventure) <made famous by Warren Snider!  Too many problems pointed out<br /><br />NEW! Questor's Charm of Pure Luck: (all) player may draw two additional tokens from treasure generator provided she took hostile damage in that room.  (no slot needed, but must carry on person)  Warren always manages to turn ill-fortune to good luck!<br /><br />SeyLah’s +2 Cestus of Shock: (3 4 5 6 7 8) plus +10 shock damage on a “20” (Fighter/Paladin)<br /><br />Gearon’s +2 Blessed Mace (3-10 damage - +3 to damage to undead in hands of cleric)  This makes this mace in line with the Holy Sword and the Club of Bashing. Damage wheel is the same as old Gearon's Mace<br /><br />Hand of Glory<br /><br />Crown of Might: immunity to charms and psionic attacks<br /><br />Circlet of the Arch-Druid: polymorph into Dire Bear (6 6 8 8 10 10 12 16) +10 on a “20” 3 charges  (druid only)<br /><br />+2 Sling of Doom: +10 impact damage any “20"<br /><br />+2 Dagger of Venom: +10 poison damage on any “20”  (all but paladin and cleric)  clerics can't use any daggers anywho<br /><br />+2 Hammer of Thunderbolts (as +2 Heavy Mace) if used with Girdle and Gauntlets: any “20” slide kills giant if damage dot is on lightning bolt on damage wheel / 1 handed weapon<br /><br />+2 Bastard Sword of Dragon Slaying: any “20” slide kills dragon if damage dot is on "burst" on damage wheel<br /><br />Dragonscale Shield<br /><br />Mithral Shield: +3 AC and reflects gaze attacks back at monster (monster gets save)<br /><br />Gloves of Deflection: Immune to missile attacks (all) Monk: deflects missile damage back at monster for damage.  Gloves and Bracers stack as one is on the forearm and the other is on the hand.<br /><br />Boots of Speed: allows one re-slide per combat and +1 AC (boots usable by Fighter only)<br /><br />+2 Bracers changed Celestial Bracers to that<br /><br />NEW! Circlet of Elemental Mastery:  Wizard can change energy type of spell (not scroll or wand) to one of these - provided he successfully completes the one wizard test he does to see if he does more damage :  1)cold  2)fire  3)shock  4)sonic (same damage just different energy type)  This might come in handy against a fire-based monster so that the Scorching Ray would go from non-effective to very useful.  Should allow for some creative use of spells. <br /><br />Rings of Fire Elemental Command (1 ring slot): wearer immune to all fire / fire elemental will not attack wearer / under Fireshield spell constantly (usable by All) changed back to one slot<br /><br />*+1 Celestial Keen Long Sword<br /><br />*Celestial Bracers: +2 to AC <br /><br />*Celestial Girdle: +2 to melee damage / immune to fear<br /><br />*COMPLETE SET: Immune to breathe weapons -- These three items were given to the players by the Angel after they defeated Iuz in 2008.  If you will recall, she was wearing these items in the room.  Thanks Helene for the idea.  She gets all 3 tokens.<br />

Oh boy.  Now it looks like I need to get Questor's Charm and a Circlet of change!

Seriously, can I get any sort of justification for why gearon's is a 1-8 and why it doesn't then screw people with the MoD? Isn't the point to keep these weapons within a class more or less equivalent? Why bring out something clearly superior the very next year? Hell, I didn't even pick a MoD or play cleric and I'm pretty toasted about this. If it can happen with the MoD it could happen with any item. This isn't as bad as the bird flip that was the UR RoP, but it's not pretty either.

I like the Wizard item, the Circlet of Change.  Also is there a reason why you haven't given the Longsword a +2 with ability yet, or is just because in this instance the possibility of granting you protection from B. Weap. would make it too good?

Can we change the name of the circlet of change to something cooler like the circlet of elements or circlet of elemental mastery?<br /><br />I am very happy with this list. There's a lot of interesting items. There's also one must have item (the ring) which is good to have every year, in my opinion.

<br /><br />IMHO, the ability to "slay" a demi-god with no save is quite powerful...and worth doing 2 points less in damage.  It would seem to be a good trade...but we will have to disagree.

On a 20 and a 1 out of 6 chance? I heard one person insta'ed Iuz but it was the only instance in all the runs. Did anyone here insta any monster with either the MoD or the quivering palm?<br /><br />I think on this one, you really have to go with the wisdom of the crowds. I haven't heard a single person say they would prefer the MoD over gearon's, and that was the woodie version that was underpowered. Is there anyone out there who would actually pick a MoD over the gearon's as is? Seriously.

There are so many ways to game the 'pure luck' of quester's. I hope that was taking into consideration. It's definitely something my group would consider. All it would take is a few cloaks of elvenkind that just about all of us still have a bunch of.

These changes are all good. I like the circlet of elemental mastery. My only hesitation is that I'd like to see the list of wizard spell and scroll options increase rather than an item that allows immediate conversion.
