Successful trading also has a lot to do with timing. I can't tell you how many people came up and asked me about trading while I was working as the doorperson at the tavern, especially on Saturday. I'd tell them who to look for, but people weren't always around. I understand that people can't trade 24/7, but availability may be part of the issue as well.

Kim

I did some decent trading, considering my small trade stock, sitting in the back by the dungeon exit.

That might be something to look into for next year for Joyus and I, if Joyus volunteers for the madness of co-managing the tavern again next year. Moving the token trading area closer to the dungeo exit so that they can hit the groups coming out and looking to trade their loot from the dungeon. I would also like to figure out a way to have token traders near the entrance to the coaching area so that they can help the coaches by preparing the groups going in.

oh great - a distraction getting folks to the tables on time!!!

*best Brit accent* I say, isn't the tavern doing enough damage getting folks to the Coaching room?

(JUST KIDDING - but seriously, we don't want too many traders set up in front of the coaching room...some maybe, and definately within ear-shot of the WRANGLER...but too many and I can see folks getting off-track.)

Just had flash back to 2005 when the parties checked in, trained and then wandered in the town for while. And the poor party wranglers trying to track down the parties who got "lost" in town.

It would be nice to have a village (or something) where people could go between checking in and the coaching area. But we would need to have town cryer, getting parties to the coaching area on time.

IF the tavern town comes back - we need to get those resturant pager things that light up and vibrate!!!

I had actually thought about those being useful for TD the other day when I was reading another thread.

Restraunt pager pricing

www.resttech.com/pagers/guestpage/tx7400kit.htm

basically $500 for the base unit and $50 each for the pagers (dropping in price a little for a large quantity).

Sort of pricey...and some risk of them getting lost...but overall, I think it better than yelling for groups. Of course if you gave one pager per group of 8 - that does not keep all 8 people together...and we would still have the same problem.

That was kind of where I ended up too. I think most parties are made of multiple groups, so it quickly became not as good an idea. I never bothered to look up any pricing.

Easy solution - one pager person, with a backup pager for each person in case it gets lost or damaged. Raise the price of a run to $80. =D
