You had to glue it? I figured it'd fix itself. Though, seriously glad it's fixed.

... How this happened, I don't know. How in God's name it happened to me a second time is a question I'll have to ask when I meet with Him in person...

Koralk, you've got to quit biting the tokens when you get them. Yes they are real, no need to check. People only bites things in the movies. ;) :D

Anyone sending tokens to koralk should just tape them all together into a stack. He he ends up with something like a half dozen tokens all split that were packed that way, then I'd be damned impressed.

I wish I could give you a better answer, however I can only take educated guesses. It shouldn’t have happened again within such a short period of time. Do you live in a big city or a small town? Big cities have many local sorting machines and the chances are higher for receiving damaged materials. I work in a small town in Western PA. and we have no sorting machines ourselves. Did the package have a peel-off barcoded sticker applied to the outside? This would indicate that the piece was handled by at least 2 different machines. Is your mailed delivered by city carrier or rural carrier? Rural carriers usually “strap-out their mail, and could be pulling too hard upon the tie-out straps thus damaging the tokens. This should not be happening, if the token is packaged in a safe manner. A box, such as a watch box, would be even sturdier but even that could be crushed. A padded bag with bubble wrap should be enough. Please ask your local Postmaster for any suggestions, and show him the original packaging with the damaged token. I agree with Gary who stated that this is probably not just a coincidence. There must be a problem within the local mail processing facility. The CD case idea Dave suggested should work, however the plastic can get cracked easily. Koralk please pm me your mailing address and I will send a “test token to you. I hope we can find the source of the problem. When customer service is improved, we all win.

Your humble servant,

Larry Anthony

I don't expect a replacement for this one (its a +1 Cloak, thats easy enough to tape together and put in my badge holder). Still, its frustrating.

Koralk - I replied to your PM before seeing this thread. I was, admittedly, shocked to hear my token had snapped, but hearing that you've had 2 snap makes me wonder what's going on.

I offered to replace the token if you want, but I think that, if we do so, I won't send it thru the mail - I'll just bring my spare +1 cloaks to GenCon.

Raven -

lol I replied to your PM before seeing this post.

Don't worry about replacing the Cloak, I taped it together and it'll be perfectly fine like that. Its not like the quarterstaff, where the token has to be whole and without tape on it so that I'll be able to slide it.

No worries. I was mostly just trying to let everyone know the be aware that this *could* happen. I don't need it replaced. Thanks very much for your generous and thoughtful offer.

Koralk is a bleeping albatross of ill fortune.

I just got some tokens in the mail and now one of them is broken. A scroll of remove paralysis, so it's not desperately important or anything but now I've got to go find the elmer's glue. Notice how nothing had ever gone wrong before Koralk brought down this curse upon us somehow. Now it's spreading. I think it's time to sacrifice a goat or something.

I wasn't going to mention this...but...

Today I broke my first token...dropped it on the floor and rolled over it with the chair.

And what was on the screen at the time??? YEP this forum string!

No - not at all - just kind of a mystery...

And it even had a cool book title ring to it...The Curse of Koralk!

I suppose it did at that.

Perhaps that can be a title for one of the books in the Tavern. ;)
