TOPIC: Rules Question on Rings

Re: Rules Question on Rings 12 years 3 months ago #25
Turning works like CLW. The DM presents a bead chalenge and the score is the same. Think of it as a Cause rather than Cure Light Wounds.

Dave

Cool - thanks for the 411 Dave!

I'll have to remember to Turn more often for a guaranteed 10 points of Damage!
Maybe the Wizard need +2 to all damage spells - to make up for not getting any +1's on healing spells...

*does the power creep - creep*

I concur. =D
If your not confident in your dieties you can not be a true cleric.

Untrue. I'm a cleric of the Patron God of low self-esteem.

I can see it in next year's pre-TD newsletter.
Because of Gary's over-confidence, all of the cleric beads have been changed. Be sure to thank him when you see him.
I've got a RoF for my wizard (forgot to use it, though!). Seems way better for the cleric/druid than for the wizard, since it helps both their attacks and their healing.

Cleric has 7 healing spells (2 Cure Minor, 3 Cure Light, 2 Cure Moderate) and 1 damage effect (Turn).

Druid has 4 healing spells (2 Cure Minor, 2 Cure Light) and 2 damage spells (2 Produce Flame - I am not sure if Flame Blade counts with the Ring of Focus).

Wizard has 6 damage spells (Acid Splash, Ray of Frost, Burning Hands, Magic Missile, Scorching Ray, Melf's Acid Arrow).

However, Cleric and Druid are not as likely to benefit from the damage effect because they need to wear the Ring of Focus during combat. (Usually there are better rings to wear and it's not worth wasting a round switching rings). In the case of the Wizard, you're much more likely to be wearing the Ring of Focus all the time.

So though the Ring can help the attacks of Cleric/Druid, I don't think it will most of the time simply because it won't be worn then.

Don't forget, Druids have Produce Flame! :D

Pfft. Bullpucky. Like any of us believe that. You'd love to be the one finding them and putting them together to have the huge head start in memorizing them.
