TOPIC: New 2007 Price Guide Feedback

Re: New 2007 Price Guide Feedback 16 years 9 months ago #13

I totally value items more when the stack starts to near the floor - I think the law of supply and demand RULES all trades = wheter you use the guide or not.

In fact - ALL of my crazy PURP buys and "set finishing" buys, are inflated more than what I think the item is worth...because I do not have it for the set.

Maybe that is what we are seeing on the Guide - too many lop-sided trades causing more lop-sided trades in a confined group of people..."terrarium economics."

Only found a few errors so far.
I dont think Barbarians can wear mithral chainmail or elven chainmail. Looking at the pics in 6.2 it doesnt say he can.

Also I dont think the scrolls are correctly marked: From 6.2 Token guide:
Scrolls with "All" on their tokens can be used by any character with magical ability (Wizard, cleric, bard, ranger, druid, and palidin).

So for the uncommon scrolls Read magic and Protection from Evil those columns should be corrected.

And of course the columns of the Combo token items should be updated as well.

Anyway, thats just my nitpicky observations as I use both tools to see what I can gear my party with.
Thanks,
Greyseer.

I don't think Druids can use the Scepter of the Dead either...

OK, I am not necromancing thread for the fun of it, I swear.
But I noticed as I was researching whether or not the club could become a thrown weapon I noticed that the Hand Axe had the background color of a consumable. But the Token Guide for 2007 just says that you have to spend a round to recover it.
Just a nit-picky thing, but its always good to get the various documents to line up.

Consumables do not have a background color, I am not sure what you mean. It is the same common brown/black as most of the base weapons. There is nothing on it that indicates it is a consumable.

Are you are referring to the fact that it is listed in the sub category of compound weapons (those that can be used for melee and ranged attacks)?

PriceGuide_Chips_v2.pdf

Legend section on page 2: Beige/brownish = Consumable, Italics = Ranged, etc.

Page 1: Hand Axe (d3.8) is italics (for ranged) on a Beige/brownish background indicating its consumable - which it is not.
Just like Dagger of Throwing should be italics on page 2 as it is ranged.

Ahh, the issue is with the price guide.
That is maintained by Douglas and is not an official document of TD, it is created for and by collectors.
Sorry, I misunderstood.

Sorry, I have been meaning to update the Price Guide but work has consumed my life recently.

Stay tuned.

No, you were right, I was wrong. I frankly was not paying attention to which thread the question was in...
