I'm new here. I didn't get a chance to get all the fragments, and it's pretty much impossible to catch up, since I don't see Fragments 2 or 3 anywhere on the open market. I've had a hard enough time catching up on the Greaves and Rings, which are much more attainable goals than the Fragments. So, from that perspective, making the Mark so that it's not a "must have" is really good design. I'm sorry you're feeling bad about the reduced power levels, but I won't apologize for my relief in this area.

I hope this doesn’t discourage you from continuing to contribute here. We benefit tremendously from new voices in the forums.

As for expected power, and from the perspective of someone who is making one to get "Crafted by Endgame" written at the bottom, power in the realm of the dragon orbs is absolutely fine. I'm really starting to look forward to the idea of being able to wear both my Pern's and another head (which is almost certainly going to be Cranston's).

Question - Is it still planned to fit all the powers on the text of the token?

And my 2 cents is that I am excited to see the powers and think they’re in the ballpark of what I was expecting for paragon tokens. I like Lorca and Stern in particular.

For this ability, does it have to be an ally that died in the current room, or can it be one that died in a previous room?

Thank you! As I have explained elsewhere, I am the Executive Officer of the players' committee for the Star Trek CCG (#shamelessplug for trekcc.org ). No one in the WORLD gets in nerd fights like a) Star Trek fans who b) play a dead CCG, so my skin is pretty thick. ;)

What does the 1/game mean? Often eldritch runestone effects don’t mesh with the action economy, but provide some kind of a static bonus.


tokendb.com/token/eldritch-runestone/ Each of the abilities are basically per run (+1 bead, +2 saves, etc.), so I think it's just saying "you get the benefit of eldritch runestone each run".

While I share your frustration and disappointment with these proposals, we shouldn’t be surprised after the orbs.

Keep in mind, my perspective is additional damage isn't a big appeal.

The #1 appeal to this token is our names get to be on them. That's absolutely huge.
I'd vote for everyone having something unique even if the abilities are objectively dumb :)
A token that has my name on it and grants immunity to damage from sheep would be ideal.

We could create a list of 100 dumb and funny abilities and everyone who makes one gets to draw three choices. Once a choice is made, that option is gone. None of the abilities would need to go much beyond a common if nobody else had them.

Examples:
Immunity to damage from sheep
Ability to cast "Marvin's Apocalyptic Instant Death Spell - no save!" (Instantly kills an opponent or NPC named Marvin somewhere.)(Yes, old Bard's Tale reference there.)
+1 to bardic bonuses but only when the player sings theme songs from 1970's TV shows
You can polymorph into a Flumph! Special ability (combat only): fly at a slow speed - vulnerability to all damage and becomes helpless in anything more than a light breeze
Immunity to iocane powder (Inconceivable!)

Summary - Flavor trumps power. Let's keep it fun :) Hey - maybe the silly stuff can be a separate add-on beyond the "serious" powers.
What do we want? Evidence based science! When do we want it? After peer review!
