TOPIC: Transmuting Time Expectations

Transmuting Time Expectations 1 month 2 weeks ago #13

Hi James!

For some background, transmuted (originally called Combo tokens) were created because players who bought a lot of tokens had more and more of them piling up with nothing to do with them. True Dungeon (very generously in my opinion) created a system where players could trade in their excess tokens for tokens that they could use.

It probably isn't feasible to transmute Relic and higher tokens just from treasure box treasure from doing runs, as they were designed for players that buy a lot of tokens. There are lower level transmutes that are very doable though with treasure just from runs.

I'd be willing to play NM without UR+ at a full table of knowledgeable players who are tolerant of failure.

THIS.

There's a difference between "being able to play at Nightmare level" and "being able to succeed at Nightmare level"

If your definition of "making the jump to Nightmare" means being able to consistently beat the dungeon on Nightmare mode, you're going to want a pretty decent build, with higher-end stats (see Endgame's suggestions).

If you're looking for a challenge, or just want to be able to play with certain other folks who like to play at Nightmare level, then you can have an Exalted build, and good team mechanics, and you'll probably get to the final room (mostly) intact. Whether you beat that final boss is optional at that point, because you'll still get your full XP and have been able to participate in all the dungeon rooms. You only need to kill the final boss if you wan that Survivor pin / bragging rights.

Some folks are fine with that. Some are very upset if they don't "win". Your tolerance for failure makes a big difference in when you are "ready" to make the jump.
