Divine Intervention
One of the abilities of
Druegar’s Sacred Necklace
can sometimes turn all the damage wheels on slid pucks to the max. But because VTD doesn't have pucks, each attack roll that hits on the round after
divine intervention is activated deals +5 damage--assuming the
divine intervention roll was 11 or higher.
Aura Damage
There is some understandable confusion over this mechanic, so I'd like to try to explain it better.
Some monsters have a magical aura that deals damage when getting close enough to perform a melee attack. Unlike Retribution Damage that only triggers when a melee attack
succeeds, merely being close enough to attempt a melee attack triggers Aura Damage. It's kind of like being close to a Fire Elemental. Even if you don't touch the Elemental, just being close to it can burn you because it's so hot.
Tokens that mitigate Retribution Damage do not mitigate Aura Damage.
Tokens that grant Damage Reduction (DR) can mitigate Aura Damage as long as the DR is compatible with the energy type the aura inflicts. E.g., if a
Sea Elf subtype
character was close to the aforementioned Fire Elemental, the Sea Elf DR would not reduce the Aura Damage because Sea Elf DR doesn't affect magical Fire. However, if the aura was Shock, Cold, Darkrift, or anything that's not magical Fire based, the Sea Elf's DR would reduce the Aura Damage. A barbarian's DR mitigates Aura Damage because barbi's DR isn't type specific.
Have you looked it up in the
