TOPIC: RFID token case transport/storage question

RFID token case transport/storage question 3 years 1 week ago #1

For those of you that have maybe already found a good solution for CoA, how do you tend to store the RFID enabled tokens and bring them along in the dungeon? I just got a skull and as expected it doesn't really fit in the binder with everything else. I only need to deal with 1, so not really looking for a solution that can handle a whole party's worth.

My general solution for other tokens today is a 3 ring binder with the 3 columns of 5 coin pages Kirk sells that go in a small drawstring backpack only slightly larger than the binder along with a coin wallet (also from Kirk) in a custom leather carrier that I don't recall who sells for tokens that may need to be shown in the dungeon.

Is there a binder compatible coin sheet size that fits the clear plastic protector size?

I have made a sleeve that fits over a few of my Dansco binders. They have a window on the front that closes and holds tokens that that I need to show in the dungeon if I am playing Rogue. The sleeve is made out of marine vinyl, snaps shut, and has a removable strap. I can give you a hands on look at Gen Con if you want.

Guess I should have done some more research before asking. Looks like the token case is basically 55mm. Given the thickness maybe the 65mm Optima binder pages would work.

Has anybody tried that?

Lighthouse makes hard plastic sheets for coins in capsules. I use these for some of my tokens that are NOT in capsules though so I don't know exactly what size to get. I would guess 44-45mm would work (the sizing is measuring the inside space of the capsule, not the outside) but definitely no promises on this.

Or just remove the token from the capsule. That's what I did for my CoAs and will probably do the same for my Skull.

We HIGHLY recommend leaving Charms of Avarice and Skulls of Cavadar in their protective capsules.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

What if we are taking it out to put it in a capsule that is closer to the size?

Realistically its probably fine if your just moving them to a different case, but RFID tokens dont have metals cores and are kind of brittle.

IMO the best reason not to take them out is you will never get the cases closed all the way again once air gets in.

I keep mine in a pencil case with my other TEs

Dont worry it's safe at the bottom of my backpack XD

P.s. only half this statement was an exaggeration.

OK, I figured that was the case but with all the HIGHLY that Druegar was adding to this (this is at least the second time I've seen HIGHLY about this topic in the past few days), I was just making sure there wasn't something about the case themselves that we had to be aware of. I prefer to keep them in the tighter-fit token-sized capsules because they fit better into my storage solutions than having a couple of weird-sized ones mixed in with the token sized.

If my CoA came in a plastic protector, I know it's not in one now. It's in one of Binia;s sashes, but I will find the plastic holder and put it back.

All 40 of my TE's are just in a token bag. I just dump it out in epilogue. The skulls might go in there as well.
