TOPIC: Proof of Value USPS

How do you all establish proof of value for transmutes to satisfy USPS insurance claim requirements?

we were just talking about this in discord as well :D Arcanist looked it up.

Proof of value is the cost or value of an item when it was mailed. Any of these can be used to show proof of value:

Sales receipt
Paid invoice or paid bill of sale
Statement of value and/or estimates of repair costs from a reputable dealer
Credit card billing statement
Receipt of costs incurred for reconstruction of non-negotiable documents
Printouts of the online transaction identifying the purchaser and seller, price paid, date of transaction, description of item purchased, and assurance that the transaction status is completed and assurance that the transaction status is completed

So I would assume True Adventures or one of the dealers like Kirk or Trent could give a statement of value based on your transmuted tokens.

This is how I look at it:

1. last items for sale on trent or Kirk (because it is replacement cost)
2. ebay (if it makes sense)
3. any receipts especially if you bought them before...(like a relic...)

Kirk at TDTavern or Trent at TrentTokens should be able to quote you a replacement cost. If it isn’t reputable enough, I’ll fight the post, tooth, claw, and spell.

Good luck.

Also I’d reach out to True Adventures if you are having issues with a recent transmute, they might be able to assist if they sent it. Them not receiving a transmute is harder, they need as much proof of what was in the box as the post usually. If true adventures “received the box” have them forward pictures, pictures can usually help!

This is interesting - I'd definitely read the fine print - I tried to insure a package at the FedEx store to be shipped by FedEx, and they told me they couldn't insure collectibles - they even called up to their insurance point of contact at corporate to double check.

I mostly just use Stamps.com's add on insurance (it's way cheaper than USPS insurance), and cross my fingers they'll pay on an error.

USPS gave me the runaround if the package is clearly lost in their system, as priority mail "has no delivery guarantee" and weeks can go by without a scan and they won't refund without proof of a damaged delivery. After multiple visits to the post office I just wrote that one off.

Now we have to determine who's a "reputable dealer" :P

This more came from a discussion of insurance and what would be needed if something was lost. I don't think anyone involved in the conversation on the Discord channel actually had anything happen.

I went with Stamps.com for insurance as well.

I have to say, this is the most I have insured for a single token shipment ever. Multiples of the skulls are the main culprit.
