If you're in the Carbondale area...
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

It's only a minimum of two hours driving from anywhere you'd actually want to be...

Lol!

My own rule is that I'll use the mail for anything EXCEPT Legendary transmutes. Those are all done in person. It's a security thing. Why allow any risk, however small, that you could lose such a valuable token?

I mean, I’m not in the area, but you’re making me wonder if my definition of “area” is too narrow.

I just mailed in a transmute for five Dungeonbane's, a few Relics, 40K in GP, a few old Shadowskins and some Fleece. Fingers crossed!!

And Gamehole Con. Though that won’t fix the current dilemma.

See what runs I end up getting tickets for first and try to figure out if there is time to get it transmuted before the first one.

I can be bribed to make sure you go first through transmuting. LOL!!

So I have everything I need for a shiny new CoA - my first legendary. I am also aiming to do some of the first runs available at Origins at which I would obviously want to use the CoA. So not having transmuted at a con before, I wanted to find out :

1 - When does the transmuting desk typically open at the cons - how long before the runs start?
2 - How long does it typically take to transmute a CoA?

Just trying to balance the risk of sending through the mail - although I have never had any issues with USPS so far.

At Origins last year the Transmute Room opened at either 10 or 11 AM Thursday. Laz or Dave can correct me and add if there was a Wednesday day for transmuting.

How long it takes depends on...

How many transmute orders there are.
How many Transmuters are helping.
Smaller orders usually get done first because they are easier to go through quickly.
Huge orders sometimes get done piecemeal depending how many orders are in the queue.
Sometimes if a TD'er needs the Token for a Run that is about to start they get the rush treatment. But this solely depends on the above things, too.

Thanks Ro-gan - looks like it would be safer to transmute at the Con rather than via USPS.
