TOPIC: Woodies

Woodies 5 years 3 weeks ago #1

I'm making True Dungeon shadowboxes to sell and display TD token collections. A person has ordered a custom one because they have 3 woodies. I was wondering because I don't have any woodies to work with. Are they the same "size" as the modern tokens. I'm thinking about cutting and using petri dishes to hold the tokens up in the shadow box and want to make sure I'm getting around the right size.

I'd ask the customer for a few sample to work with.

Based on my recollection they are about the same size, although somewhat irregular from token to token, perhaps a touch smaller. I am fairly confident they are thinner as well.

they are all slightly thinner. 2003-2005 are all the same diameter. in 2006 the sizes varied as much as 3/32 of an inch as well as the color/shading of the wood.

I just found I have a single woody. It is around 1 mm less in diameter than the chip style tokens.

I have a bunch of Woodies from various years and although their diameters range in size they all fit inside a 39mm coin capsule. And most have a bit of spare room inside.
