I think they key bit would be:

*An offensive action is defined as doing at least one of the following:
Attacking
Casting a damage-inflicting spell or scroll
Casting a spell or scroll that requires a magic/spell resistance check
Casting a spell or scroll that requires a saving throw

Correct. While bardsong could arguably be considered increasing other players’ damage, it does so indirectly. It is still that player doing the extra damage; the song just provides inspiration. Thus singing is NOT considered an offensive action. (There was another thread where this was confirmed by Druegar, but I’m too lazy to look for it.)

I’ve been told that my singing is pretty offensive. ;)

Not even close to the damage caused by Mongo being the Bard.

I let mongo be the bard one time guys.

Maybe I've blocked it out, but my recollection is that he wasn't all that bad!

You must have blocked it out... or are being too kind. Even Lori has asked me to please refrain from singing, especially 1001 bottles of beer on the wall

This is the song that never ends...
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

All I know is that my Vuvuzela bard was very "offensive", but the monsters couldn't do anything about it as I was hiding in the corner beneath my Cloak

Several times I started combat with Bard"song" and the NPC in the room immediately said they were attacking the bard :silly:

Please, please, for all our sake's, don't ever bring a Vuvuzela again.

Honestly, it definitely takes everyone out of the environment, and not just on your run.
