I'm just sharing what I've physically seen/touched/collected. If others exist, I hope to hear about it!

It’s not enough to share. You have to reference your source:

I.e. From the description of an $8k onyx order in the TD Store:

A proof set of Onyx tokens of the 2019 Common, Uncommon and Rare (but no Ultra Rare) tokens.

If memory serves, the same description is used every year. All that changes is the year.

That’s pretty explicit. Nothing about completion tokens, trophies, TG-only, etc.

True, it doesn't include completion tokens, etc, but it doesn't explicitly exclude them either. For instance, completion tokens are Uncommon or Rare, so they could fit within the existing description, as could the Rare Volunteer token.

Given that the onyx UR token option is limited to 20 (no UR vol token)...

But you don’t have to open the six twenty-packs to realize there’s no room for anything else.

And there’s be no point in leaving blanks in the QTR checklists if Jeff was mailing them out to people before pre-orders even closed

I totally agree with you that the number of tokens in the sealed ONYX packs matches up with the number of Rare/Uncommon/Common tokens in the "from packs" list, and that if Jeff were including tokens like completion tokens he'd likely have to mail those with the modules (which wouldn't be that tough to do logistically).

I'm just saying that, from the description in the store, Matthew had a point that you don't really know if it includes any or all of the Rare or Uncommon "non-pack" tokens.

Other than (again, from the description):

“Your free Onyx Set will ship within a few business days of you placing your pre-order.” No mention of split shipments.

And, there’s no indication whatsoever that it would include anything but the base set. It would be a big selling point if it did include bonus tokens, and I’m convinced Jeff would make a big point of it if it did. Why would he keep it secret? Incentives only work if people know about them.

LOL, hi Aegoce. As far as I'm aware, the Ring of Pandemonium is only in Onyx. If a gold one exists, I've never heard of it, nor seen it. Methinks it doesn't exist.

There are other Onyx Completion tokens, but I've only seen one of them also available in Gold. See below for what I'm aware of, and if someone knows something different, pictures or it ain't true!

Boots of Inferno Step - Rare - 2018 - Onyx only
Charm of the Warm Wind - Uncommon - 2018 - Gold & Onyx
Crown of Allure - Rare - 2018 - Onyx only
Pants of Retrieval - Rare - 2016 - Onyx only
Ring of Pandemonium - Rare - 2018 - Onyx only
Soul Coffer - Rare - 2018 - Onyx only

I saw a token proof of the Ring in Gold, though only the proofs came back as gold my guess the rest were made into onyx which means there aren't that many of them.

I always thought the proofs were the onyx backed tokens. ie Jeff has a small con like gamehole and needs a completion token like, he orders a run of "proofs" then changes his mind before committing to a large order as he would for the regular set. That's pure speculation though.

I'm bumping this thread up because the 2018 Ring of Pandemonium completion token has an onyx back on tokendb, and prior to this Gen Con (2019) I had never seen a gold back version.

While I was prepping for True Grind, someone was walking by and showed me a gold back version, and I was so stunned that it was difficult to speak and remember where my wallet was. I'm not sure if I spoke words, but I think I stuttered and tried to say "how much?"

But he ran off before my eyes could focus on his name on his badge and of course I was so stunned I didn't ask for a name. However, he did say he would post about it on the forums (maybe auction it?), so I'm patiently waiting to hear more from this bearer of the gold back Ring of Pandemonium.

Come out, come out, wherever you are.

That is interesting. Though honestly without a story, or confirmation from TPTB I'd be worried someone had just rebacked the sticker onto a gold token.

I've seen them do as much in the transmute room when someone brings in an old token that has been cracked after dropping on the floor (I've even got a gold backed pants of retrieval that was generated by such a transmute room repair, but I would hesitate to say that means the token was made available in that form)
