TOPIC: Enchanter's Whetstone question

Enchanter's Whetstone question 5 years 5 months ago #1

A question on Enchanter's Whetstone . The token says "+1 To Hit & +1 Dmg with any Rare weapon". Does that include Rare ranged weapons? So if you have a Rare melee weapon, say +1 Great Sword, and a +1 Long Bow, you get the +1/+1 on both melee and missile attacks?

It is not specified either way, so I assume you get it for both?

I had this same question - Jeff answered it for us thankfully.

If my link here is messed up, it's post 62:

If it's rare and it's a weapon, it gets the bonuses--those are the only two qualifiers.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Thanks everyone for the answers. I'm starting work on the Character Generator mods and wanted to make sure I had it correct.

Lots of tokens with new conditions, along with all the errata changes. No new Set Bonuses, but lots of Treasure Enhancer changes.

I will be adding 2 more Wand slots to bring the total to 7 Wand slots. All the wands will show up for these slots. Otherwise, there are no new slots I am aware of at present.

Another hard one is going to be Shield of Lava Spawn . It's the -1 damage from Fire, which only counts while it is equipped. So if the player has a 2-handed melee weapon and a 1-handed sling, and Shield of Lava Spawn in the Ranged-Offhand slot, the -1 from Fire only counts while using the sling. Same issue as last year's Bliss Bull Shield . Not sure what I am going to do with the fire resistance.

Nice. No longer do you need a damage wheel to allow the whetstone to work.

Was it ever established if the whetstone worked if you had 2 weapons and only one was red? Ex, a monk with a +1 cestus and an orb of might, or a +1 shuriken and a masterwork shuriken?

Edit - looks like token dB covers it for a monk. It doesn't say anything about a ranger, but I presume the same rules apply

There are two kinds of people in the world:
  1. Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Why are there wand slots? We dont specify all the potions of polymorph we might use.
