That was going to be my suggestion.

And/or make it a slotless item rather than a ring.

I also wouldn't mind if we got a luck blade of some sort that required 3 wish rings to get, or something else just using it in place of gold seems to make it less valuable.

No, that's like letting people have their cake and eat it too.

There should be an opportunity cost.

Essentially you're just saying everyone gets to use a Wish Ring *and* still use it for GP. Which means it will significantly increase the number of Wishes that will be used.

Then have the used Wish ring be valued at "X" GP, and usable towards a Legendary transmute. I'd say a fair value for "X" would be 10K GP, maybe 11K

It goes to the problem statement. Is there a stockpile of Wish Rings building up?

If so, we should increase their utility.

In the old days, Wish Rings were quite rare.

Nowadays, with the sheer number of $8K orders, they are increasingly common. Especially since they carryover (unused Wish Rings) from year to year.

Furthermore, Jeff keeps piling on more and more incentives for big orders. Onyx sets. Adventurer's Guild. Orbs of Dragonkind. Patron codes and events. So more and more people are buying $8K orders (or pooling/auctioning) and the Wish Rings are just an afterthought now. Still valuable. But not as noteworthy as they used to be.

Another way to look at it is if people think that the in-game uses are too weak because Wish Rings are mainly being used for GP for Legendaries, maybe it's the opposite problem. They are worth too much GP which is why people are using them. So another way to get people to use them more in the dungeon is to DECREASE their GP trade in value to disincentivize people from doing that.

LOL good point. They’re too expensive to use, so either make the Wishes more powerful or make the Rings worth less. Both achieve the same effect.

So, new legendary recipes should include:
Wish ring OR 5000gp

And dont change the old recipes, that will jist be the new standard going forward. Assuming the price drops, it will be a nice bonus for anyone making an older legendary.

Well, recipes shouldn't be cheaper. Especially since the new tokens end up being more powerful due to power creep.

Still require 15,000 GP but the Wish Ring option is 10,000 GP + Wish Ring.

It might be pretty hard to make them powerful enough to justify turning in a $250 Token. So maybe make the rings worth less, however that makes the Legendaries a bit harder to make. Either way I don't have much skin in this game. I think it would be cool to see more used in the dungeon though.
