It said that it negates bardsong instruments because of dissonance. Does that also imply with the 1 round effect of lure of echo?

With shirt of valiant if bard is slain he can assist with bardsong for two rounds?

I can’t answer your question. I could see it going either way.

As a practical matter, last year’s room 2 monsters had +8 and +10 to saves on Hardcore (per the respective modules.)

Attacking or doing almost anything else seems more productive than giving up an action for a 10-20% chance of success (only 5% on Nightmare)

There are two possible scenarios here.

1) You can't use Satyr's Pipes of Dancing in the same round as any other bardsong instrument. If you can't initiate a bardsong effect with Lyre of Echoes because you're using Satyr's Pipes of Dancing, no bardsong effect is created, therefore no bardsong effect can echo on the next round.

2) If you played Lyre of Echoes on round 1, the effect could potentially carry over to round 2 if you stopped playing the Lyre of Echoes. However, if you tried to use Satyr's Pipes of Dancing, the dissonance from each item would cancel each other out.

TLDR: Lyre of Echoes and Satyr's Pipes of Dancing don't mix, even in the "off" round.

Bardsong generally counts as casting a spell in that bardsong suffers the same limitations as spells (e.g., can't be performed in magical silence, underwater, etc.) but does not enjoy all the benefits (e.g., focus items, spell dusts, etc.). Sure, it's a special kind of spell, but 99.9% of the time if the situation allows a person to cast a spell, you can also perform bardsong. It's safe to assume all the situational rules applied to spells also apply to bardsong unless specifically told otherwise.

It would be ridiculous to even attempt to specifically name every possible action that could be performed in that situation. But even if I could, nobody would read it all.

I think you meant to say Song suffers the same limitations as a Spell (e.g. no silence, underwater) but does not enjoy any of the benefits (e.g. focus, dust)
