Yeah I thought about them popping off. But I used pretty heft Velcro. It takes more than I thought to take them off.

Very cool idea for a Paladin or sword and board fighter. I would suggest magnets for holding them.

I think two things

1 That's pretty cool.

2 What the heck do I do with this when it's my turn to slide.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I'm adding a loop at the top so I can carabiner it to my belt/pants. You could also wear the shield on you non-dominant hand.

Maybe pull a Captain America and bounce it off a few walls, slide, and catch it on the 4th bounce after the slide. Although I guess it would need to be round shield instead of looking like his original shield. ;)

Yup .. this.

Good rare earth magnets and those things won't move a bit.
I used to be an industry professional responsible for making sure Japan was able to buy some of the best toy soldiers ever made.

Now I'm just an old gamer :)

Given the sometimes hectic "slide and move" nature of combat, I'm thinking I might wind up doing an accidental shield bash on some unsuspecting party member. ;)

I agree with Steve. Perhaps using a plethora of Earth Magnets and spacing them equally like rivets (for aesthetics) might be more secure.
