Hello everyone!

I’ve been enjoying True Dungeon since 2009 and over the years I’ve gotten deeper into token collecting. For the past two years, a friend and I amassed a good amount of tokens and kitted out most of our ten-person party. The excel sheet tool and apps have been helpful in keeping track of everything. However, they’ve not been as ideal in collaborating and real-time updating while at a convention.

That being said, I decided to create a website to help facilitate what I wanted in a tool to keep track of characters and parties. Be it real time party editing with friends; keeping track of whose tokens are being used; importing characters into my party; copying a character sheet to tweak and make my own; or sharing a character or party with the TD community with the hopes of receiving assistance identifying what can be improved.

The website is TDScribe.com

It’s currently completely functional on all platforms, but not that pretty. However, the official look, and UX tweaks, should be coming down the pipe soon.

If you try it out and find any bugs please post them here or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

There is a very large road map of additional functionality I have planned and I’ll be sharing and updating in the post below.

Thanks for trying out the website!

The website may go down temporarily early on as I figure out server load and correct minor bugs.

Nearterm:
Finish theme
Create Indication when a token is removed when a requirement is not met
Address Token Selection Refresh
Confirmation Dialogue before deleting character/party/permission

Midterm
Token Collection
Condensed Cheat Sheet
Identify/List Treasure Enhancers

Longterm
Theme Improvements
Equip Tokens based on Collection
Printer Friendly Party Card
Party Token Pool
Admin panel improvements
Transmute Calculator

Dependant on Interests Longterm
Price Tracker
Suggest Improvements to Build

BUMP

I think this is a great idea, and a much needed step moving forward to engage to players.

Cool, I like the idea of easily sharing builds with others.

I entered my Barbarian. The page refreshing on each token selection was a little annoying. But now that it's in there, updating won't be so bad.

A couple bugs:
1. It's not giving me the Redoubt set bonus.
2. The function to import from another character didn't copy my second ring, nor extra Ioun Stones or Charms (from Earcuff of Orbits / Charm Bracelets).
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

I agree that the token selection refresh is annoying. I'm planning to address it in the near future as one of the UX tweaks.

As for the bugs they are crushed~

There is a recalculate button at the bottom of the sheet you can push to.... well recalculate.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Wow! Yet another great tool for the TD community. I think you, Acherin, and David should all go have a beer sometime...

A few bugs I found:

- Barbarian build with a +1 Mighty Longbow does not show an option to equip Archer's Buckler
- When I equip just one Runestone Fitting Base it gives me an option for the base Runestone plus two additional others. Should only allow me to equip a second runestone with just one fitting base.

Funny you should say that. During my development I actually did reach out to some in the TD community to get feedback and guidance from and David was one of them.

As for the bugs:
- I did not observe the Archer's Buckler bug, here is a link to a copy build I did of your character that allowed me to equip the shield. Can you please try on your character again? (Don't worry that copy is not public. I used the permissions link and added you so that you can only see it.)
- The Runestone Fitting Base now bestows the appropriate amount of extra rune stones

Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks!

Given how many different tools/sites there are these days, I wonder how much time/effort has gone into manually correcting data bugs on each ot the tools separately. Maybe a single "source of truth" JSON file or something similar would be of use? Then each of the different tools/sites could benefit from corrections done a single time. I may or may not be biased on this, having spent a good part of Saturday doing some similar manual fixes.

More focused on TDScribe, my day job makes me cringe a little at any site with a login/password that isn't using HTTPS. I'd suggest switching over to that.

Though I do think it is good to have options and let folks decide what works best for them, I have played around with each of these but for me the spreadsheet still works the best. That is partial because I already have everything in there and to load 20+ characters into a new system that doesn't give me anything better seems like a pain.

I might get around at some point to using them but it is very unlikely this year as I just don't have the motivation to replace something that already works for me.

That is a very interesting idea. One worry I have is the extra data in the background that is being created and leveraged that perhaps one tool is using versus another. There has been talks about TokenDB having an API. However, I am not holding my breath for it. But an official easily accessible API "truth" would have helped for all the tools during development is my guess.

Also, o my, great catch! I'll fix that tonight~

Totally understandable, especially with that many builds!

As I said in my opening this website was built for what I wanted in a tool. Everyone doesn't necessarily want or need the same things.

Very true. And my comments were not meant to be a knock against this tool or any other. Just at present there isn't anything that would make me choose one over the others (except the time of putting everything into a new system).

I do plan to keep an eye on them and do some playing around but when Gen Con rolls around I am pretty sure I will still be rocking the spreadsheet.
