Hoping to have everything done by the end of the weekend. Jeff has made some changes to how VTD works to try and better scale the damage, I believe he was planning on making that announcement soon so I'll let him speak on that but as far as the site progress I have a couple core functions to add and it will be ready. This will also include the desktop optimised view which people are going to either love or hate, jury is still out.

I didn't want to pile on, but should the notes for Barbarian Rage affect rolling stats? Or should there be a buff to apply for Rage (and Greater Rage)?

The notes section is a artifact from the original character sheets and have no effect on the roller. Rage is also listed under the spells/skills section. If you cast it it applies a buff called rage that will last until you change rooms or remove it manually.

I have released the desktop optimized view for VTD still some minor things I have to do before Friday but at least people can try a Beta test to catch any errors. I still need to update the mobile view to use the monster stats plus updates to the character builder to update shield functionality. As always let me know if you have any trouble.

I haven't had a chance to poke it yet, but I like the layout already with some many things on one screen.

-Heal doesn't seem to do anything at this time (sorry if you already know that).

-Damage displays as Y(Y). I don't know if that is by design but previously I thought it was Y(X). X being the damage wheel and Y being damage wheel plus damage bonuses. I think you need to display damage wheel results for anything that may trigger off certain numbers.

-Lay on Hands bonuses for the Relic and Legendary Avenger sword doesn't seem correct. It should give you 10 and 15 more uses of LoH not +10 and +15 to a LoH. This is very minor, but wanted to point it out.

Heal works you need to put a value in the text box above it. I'll look at the Y(Y) thingy.

And per TDB
Once per game, the paladin gains +10 healing with a single use of lay on hands. The player chooses when to activate this effect.

Thanks for the feedback as always.

I am not getting a pop up for heals. I get other pop-ups. I will check to see if it is getting blocked. Misunderstood what you wrote. Above it not popped above it.
Sorry you are completely correct on LoH I completely missed that in the design. I don't have one yet so haven't had the opportunity to use it.

Excellent work.

As Elf Wizard, Ray of Shock asks me for a skill check when it shouldn't. (but Ray of Shock for human Wizard behaves correctly)

For both Wizards, TDCC currently calculates spell slides using my entire Range:Hit *including the weapon bonus*, i.e. a mostly naked Elf (natural 13 Dex) with +1 Sling and Enchanter's Whetstone is getting +3 on Ray of Shock slides. I don't main Wizard so somebody else may chime in to correct me, but I'm pretty sure that should only be +1 (from Dex) since the ranged weapon is not involved in casting a spell. (FWIW I think it would be helpful to model Spell:Hit as a separate Statistic from Range:Hit)

Finally, I have no idea how to test whether this is currently happening, but I assume spell slides will now use the same custom probability table as all other attack slides?
dmrzzz's trade thread

Yes, my AC is lower than the Wizard's. No regrets!

This is actually correct behavior, per current rules. Spells do gain the to-hit bonus from the caster's ranged weapon (PHB page 33, paragraph 2) (DMG page 8, column 2, paragraph 1).

I think this is just an artifact of a separate spell-hit stat not being worth a coach's time or space on the party card.

That needs to get fixed, then. The decision to make all spells ranged & allow bardsong & other bonus tokens to affect them makes sense, but it's totally illogical for a magic sling or crossbow to give a bonus to your fireball spell.

It would be like a Monk or Ranger having two +1 weapons that added their to-hit bonuses to the other hand.
I came here to sing and collect tokens, and I'm alllll out of money.

Pgs. 34 & 35 of PHB

Casting a spell or scroll requires the caster to perform gestures with their hands. A shield may be actively used in the off-hand, but the caster’s main-hand must be free. The only exception to this is a Focus weapon. The enchantment on a Focus weapon allows the wielder to cast a spell (not a scroll) while the weapon is being held. Focus weapons do not bestow the ability to cast and physically attack at the same time.

In theory, a player isn't supposed to cheat. In practice, easy to forget that most weapons aren't Focus weapons.
