<br /><br />I think you are thinking of someone else.  I don't remember contacting TD about this, and I didn't receive any 'accommodation' for my problem, nor would I ask for one.  I just wanted to comment on it, to make sure you know that the concern is out there.<br /><br />I trust your company, and I trust in the fact that the next print of tokens will be of the same quality we have come to expect from TD.  No compensation would be necessary.  I am, overall, a happy customer.

<br />We used the same exact vendor for this year's token as always, and then even raised their prices this year.  To save the most money we ordered a big load of them -- expecting the same tokens since 2003.<br /><br />We did not get the same ones.  They vary in size and I was not happy with the overall quality of the printing.  I tried to get the printer to redo them, but they just laughed in my face -- pointing to the same disclaimer on the order sheet that says the size can vary.<br /><br />Anyway...we all got screwed by this company, and we will never use them again.  We had to totally remake all the screens and templates at considerable cost.  I was very happy with how the item side of the tokens turned out -- I think it is the best quality we have ever had.  The back side is another story.  I thought that maybe I was being a little anal about it -- as I can be picky -- but apparently I was not the only one.  <br /><br />Josh did contact us when he got his tokens (he was the only one to do so), and I had thought we had addressed his problem with a good accommodation.  If anyone else feels that they are owed some more tokens or bags let me know.<br /><br />Again...the sizes and backs should be back to the same quality next year, and the better quality fronts will remain in 2008.  <br />

<br /><br /><br />i think you may have been screwed even though you didn't have to be. i will check my copy of the UCC(uniform commercial code) and get back to you on whether or not you are actually screwed. i don't think that disclaimer is actually valid i will get on it when my lawschool exams are over.

Do you care to share the name of the vendor?  I'd be happy to drop them a line to let them know that your customers aren't happy with their horrible service and are spreading the word about it to their friends.  <br /><br />They need to understand that screwing you over is going to cost them some business in the long run.  Also, you may want to contact the Better Business Bureau in your area.  While the "size may vary" disclaimer covers them on the differences in the token stock, it shouldn't cover sub par printing work.

Agreed. If there is anything any of us can do we'd be happy to make the calls, I'm sure.

Also, it seems to me that if they don't specify exactly how much the size can vary then the disclaimer isn't valid.  Afterall, at some point, tokens that are too small will be unusable.<br /><br />I'm not sure what good having individuals call the company as we aren't the customer, Jeff is.  But I'm game for giving them a call.   :cussing:

Lori and I chatted about the size problem when I placed my order - but I had not even seen a token yet...so I wasn't voicing a complaint.  Still not going to voice one now that the story has been told and steps are being taken...<br /><br />I do have 5-10 RED tokens that are hard to read (totally smugged off - blurry or very light)...<br /><br />If there is a chance to swap those in - that would be great.

<br /><br />None of these are bad enough for me to send them back.  The only one that's even borderline is the 15 GP token with the double printing.  I just wanted to illustrate the problem as seen from my first order.  (I have another batch of 40 or so bags coming, so if there's any really bad ones there I'll let you know.)

Eh, even the 15 gp is pretty minor from my POV. I mean, it's legible and everything. I figured when people mentioned double stamping they meant completely cross stamped and an inky mess.<br /><br />The extra black ink dots are pretty common on a lot of mine but they're small and don'e make much of a difference either.

<br /><br />Jeff - that's big and great of you, Sir.  I doubt, however, too many of us will send tokens back to be swapped - it wasn't your fault and it appears you are very concerned about the printing and token quality and are working to ensure a more uniform and quality product in the future.<br /><br />I, too had a few smudge, off center, etc. printings and the backs vary widely in strength of color, but being my first year buying tokens, I had no idea what to compare these to.  In any case, I won't be sending any back but also wouldn't fault anyone else for doing so.  Now, had it been my Ultra Rare, I could see asking for a better quality printing of it.  ;)<br /><br />Thanks for the opportunity, however and better luck with the next manufacturer/printer,<br /><br /><br />John<br />JKW<br />
