EDIT #3: Game over! The token has been identified and claimed. I won't say more here, in case anyone wants to read through the thread and make their own guesses.

So, it's been a month and no one has claimed the mystery token I found on the ground at GenCon. Time to see if we can have some fun! Though, I suspect I will have the most fun with this...

I'm going to list some clues. The first person to name the correct token will own it! (If you are outside the US, I will ask you to either pay shipping or wait until next year's GenCon for a hand-off.)

Wild guesses are discouraged, as each forumite gets only 3 chances! It might be interesting for people to discuss the clues here, but be careful not to help everyone else too much! So, the clues:

1.) Read my original post here about the found token. There is a clue hidden within. Possibly two clues.

2.) I placed four 1 cent US coins and two 1 yen Japanese coins together on a balance scale, and put the token alone on the other side of the balance. The coins were collectively heavier. I then removed one yen, and the token side of the scale became the heaviest. :silly: (Wikipedia and the forum Search function are your friends!)

3.) Only a single digit is printed on the token.

4.) A player with this token could still receive the max possible treasure pulls (assuming they get all 3 stamps, of course).

5.) Making a single Pick Your Purple order any time during the past 3 years would not have allowed you to obtain this exact token. (Assuming the current PYP $250 order rules applied for all those years.)

6.) The title (name) of the token does not include or make reference to any creature type, nor does it include a proper name.

7.) It is not an artifact, trade item, trade bar, or truecraft token.

8.) It would never be turned in to a room DM.

9.) It is not a ring.

NEW CLUE 10.) It is not a completion or volunteer token.

I forgot to take those into consideration, which would make for many more possibilities than I intended. If you already guessed one of those types of tokens, I didn't count it against your three chances.

Also, for fear of having missed something else, I went through everything again...and I'm afraid I missed some others. I originally said that I believe only 12 tokens match all the clues. Well, after double checking...and triple checking...and even with the new clue...I'm afraid the true number is 16. Thankfully, six of them have now been guessed and denied, getting us to 10 possibilities remaining.

Is that too many? Should I give yet another clue? What say you all?

Edit: Aurket is not allowed to guess. :pinch:

Ah...I'm afraid the Orb of Might has seven digits on it altogether, not just one. Numbers around the edge count too!

Strike one!

Hrm, now that I finally found it in the Token Guide, I believe it also violates clue #5. That's what I get for speaking before checking my facts!

Thanks for doing this!

Dang, I think I was close - I think it's a Crown of Might. If not, I guess I'll be done!

Boots of Might?
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Charm of Awareness?
No, because 3 years ago in 2010 you could have ordered a PYP order and chosen to receive the charm. (I actually don't know if the $250 PYP order worked that way back then, but as my first post says the clue assumes it did.)

Rod of Seven Parts Segment 3?
Nope. Although that's a good guess, because you had to order more than just $250 of tokens to get it. But the RoSP #3 has two digits printed on it (the 3 and the +1 for Fort saves). The mystery token has only one digit.

Mithral Cap?
No, because as a 2009 ultra rare it would have been obtainable in 2010 with a PYP order. (Again, I actually don't know if the $250 PYP order worked that way back then, but as my first post says the clue assumes it did. I would appreciate if anyone could confirm if it did or not.)

Mithral Chainmail?
Ah! This is one of the dozen which meets all the clues, and it is the second most valuable token out of those dozen as well. But unfortunately, it is not the token I found. Never fear, Rafiq, two chances left! I'm sure everyone appreciates you helping to narrow it down. (By the way, "valuable" can be relative. I am also not implying that the mystery token is the most valuable of the dozen.)

Crown of Might?
Printed in 2012 and 2009, both versions could have been had in the past 3 years via PYP orders (the 2009 version 3 years ago, with a 2010 order). But don't worry, binia, you have one guess left!

Boots of Might?
Nope. Could be obtained in 2011 or 2012 via a PYP order.

Amulet of Wonder?
Good guess, because this year using an Amulet of Wonder would have still allowed the max treasure pulls. But no, because there are no digits (numbers) printed on the token. Have to have one.
