TOPIC: GP Value of a Golden Ticket?

GP Value of a Golden Ticket? 17 years 11 months ago #1

Since there may/probably be trades for people's extra golden tickets (and I myself would love to trade for one) what do you guys think the gp value of a golden ticket is as a good bargaining point for a trade?

I was thinking that a good starting point would be the cost of a TD run, which gives it a baseline of like 650gp. But then where do you go from there?

I then figure you go up because it's a marquee event, and has limited availability, but with that in mind how much does that add to the gp value?

Are there other things to consider?

And with that in mind is a Necklace of Fireballs (750 gp) a fair offer for a golden ticket?

Actually, the cost of the TD event is more like the equivalent of 950GP. ($28.50 x 33GP per $)

As for value, this really depends on who you sell it to. If I were going to guess, I would say the value is between $35-$55?

Just a guess though,
-D

the $28.50 includes a $10 bag of tokens... I guess I'm assuming the golden ticket run through doesn't include a bag (since there's an assumed 30 bags to that person already), so I removed the value of the token bag from the cost of the run.

Thats a good question. I guess I assumed that a Gold Ticket holder would get a bag of tokens.

if someone wants to do the gold ticket run, they have to buy 25 bags ($250) out of pocket. i know they get the tokens as well, but it is still $250. now as to the value for trade/resell/keep my yard mowed this summer (my favorite), that will be tough to figure. it is NOT a standard run. it includes the after party. if i hear right, there will be nice things going on there. you get the preview of the adventure, a kind of sneak peek at what not to do, hence increase chance of survival. this will help you out on the other runs, if you do more runs. what is all that worth? the $35-$55 estimate seems low. and all of that goes out the window for the right token.

And don't forget helping those who want to experience the GT run...I mean I would give all my extras away if I didn't think a trade was worth it for both parties...

In the end it's just like everything else. It's worth as much as you an convince a sucke...errr, I mean, a person to part with it for. There probaly won't be much open trade for GT's, even with a few people with extras. My guess is it'll tend to go to friends and more informal swaps than for some set gold amount like a token in a price guide.

Well, our group has 2 people in it that haven't been able to procur golden tickets through one means or another, and they're willing to pay $55 for each of them, so if anybody is willing to sell them, pm me...

I believe I may have a Golden ticket for trade. I'm looking for a purple and some reds to make about $65.00 in trade value. Prices are with version 28 of the price guide. Maybe someone will get one of the "00" bags and be willing to part with a "Hand of Glory". Also need a wand of cure light wounds.

Thanks!!
