TOPIC: Mithral Coin of fate

Mithral Coin of fate 11 years 6 months ago #1

the wording of the mithral coin is "The owner of this token may exchange it for any other token printed between 2007 and 2012, not including Artifacts, Relics, Legendarys, or Wish Rings."

it just occurred to me... can you exchange this for an arcane recipe? it seems like it fits the description of things you can trade for.

It has already been discussed and it is a no.

There was another thread around where someone had asked that and been told no. One way to look at it, is that Arcane Recipe is a "yearless" token (no year symbols) so it is not included.

Or even that Arcane Recipe is an artifact.

Artisan tokens were released in 2006.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

I would love to see a new set of Artisan Tokens, either in wood or Chip form, maybe limited to 50 of each, and distributed in the treasure boxes, and maybe also given randomly as bonus rewards with the TD modules (maybe one per person for anyone spending $2000 or more).

We already had a thread awhile back, coming up with ideas for them based on past True Dungeon modules. It would be really neat to have maybe 5 new Artisan Tokens per year, and if they were "Treasure Box only", that would really enhance the token pulls, with very minimal extra cost to True Dungeon.

It would be nice to have more treasure-box-only tokens (aka Boots of Warmth, Alchemist's Pouch). Tossing in a few unique Artisan tokens would be quite neat!

It would be neat if there were enough of them that you'd get one per maybe 20 pulls. I could see them as maybe one per 50 or 100 pulls also, that would make them really fun to get. It would have to be a balance so that they were rare enough to be really special, but not so rare that you'd almost never see one.

As long as we could do it in such a way that having a set of five was not necessary to complete a set of tokens for that year. There are a few of you that try and get complete sets, and having a limited number of artisan tokens small enough to make it near impossible to get, would cause problems.

Maybe there could be a special artisan collection? Of course all that depends on getting things in quickly enough to make the token order...

Dave, I do agree with that, that's why I thought the print run would be substantially higher than past years, maybe somewhere from 50 - 500, whatever would be needed to get one every 20-30 or so token draws.

The reason I'm thinking completists would be able to get sets is that these Artisan Tokens have no game value, so most of the people that get them would probably be happy to trade them. So it would help spur token trading also, which is always good :)

I'd keep them quite rare. Maybe 1 in 50 pulls, with five different artisan items. To make non collectors happy, I'd given them a GP value as well- a pretty high one (along the lines of what was being pulled from the milita recruiter). Everyone wins!

and please include more Dungeon- only items, ideally related to the theme or the rooms! Yay!
