TOPIC: Mithral Coin of Fate Turn-In Question

Mithral Coin of Fate Turn-In Question 11 years 7 months ago #1

Out of curiosity, what token would everyone take for the Mithral Token? I'm guessing that pretty much every one of them will be turned in for a Horn of Plenty, although Rod of Seven Parts Segment 1 and maybe 2 are possibilities also. Are there any other tokens anyone would take?

I am hoping to get a Ring of Supreme Elemental Command. I know that I can't turn in the Mithral Coin for it, but a HoP should about trade for it. . .

I have promised Kubu not to turn mine in until I have heard he has picked up one for his collection too

I am also considering mithral gauntlets if I can get the ring of supreme elemetal command by another means.

Oh, don't trade it for Mithral Gauntlets. I'd trade you Mithral Gauntlets plus stuff for one :)

I assume the Eldritch bar could be an option as well.

If it's the Arcane Recipe, I have run that by Jeff, and no soup!

I have no idea what I'll be turning mine in for. Obviously Horn of Plenty or Rod Part 1 would be excellent candidates. I will probably just hold on to it for a while until I have time to think about what to do.

I would guess that would *not* be allowed.

The Wish Ring is specifically disallowed, even though the main use of the Wish Ring nowadays is to serve as 15,000 GP for the Legendary items.

SO I think it would be odd to allow the Eldritch Bar while disallowing the Wish Ring since the Eldritch Bar seems far more valuable.

Also, when it comes to reserve tokens one could technically argue that since they are "yearless" they do not fit the 2007-2012 parameters.

This seems the most likely reason those would be disallowed. So no trade items either. It also technically explains the Wish Ring and the Arcane Recipe. Basically it restricts anything without a year symbol that doesn't equal the year symbol from 2007-2012.

It doesn't mention anything about token back color. So, I guess you could probably ask for a Platinum or Onyx version. The question in my mind would be, could you ask for a configuration that has never before existed? Such as a Platinum UR? (Other than the Ring of Regeneration of course) That would make for some interesting unique possibilities.

I think the wording of the MCoF says you get a token from 2007-2012 - and you can't get a token that doesn't exist :)

I doubt you can get unconventional token backings. Otherwise you will have people asking for HoP's on a Green (Eldritch) or Orange (Legendary) or Purple (Artifact) backing. The token is still a HoP, it would just have a different back. Seems like too much trouble to allow.
