TOPIC: Confess your token addiction!

Re: Confess your token addiction! 12 years 8 months ago #25

My poker chip cases are starting to show signs of wear. One of them even has a cracked handle. I think this might say something about me, but I can't think what...

Its where they sell the interesting stuff, like the star wars christmas ornaments, the lost in space action figures, the framed dragonlance art puzzles, you know, the good stuff ;). Pretty much the funnest time at auction, they sell weird stuff and yell at people walking by. And I bought a red velvet lined poker case for my beauties.

I dream of the day I can buy enough tokens that getting a GT is a statistical certainty.

I'm wondering who it was I was sitting next to in the Auction, who had the poker chip case (it was smallish, but looked perfect for what I'm thinking of). Tis what gave me the idea..and showed that I'm likely becoming a tokenholic...just have to figure how to get that on a little budget. Having just graduated from college, I live in fear of Sallie Mae. :-(

Where were you sitting at at the auction? I know I had a small black poker chip case. It holds 300 tokens which is a decent number, keeps it from being too heavy. At the time I bought it, I think the case was between 25 and 30 dollars if that much.

Near the front, on the left. I think...second row? There were several DDA member to my right, the person whom I do not know a name for (yet) on my left, and Raven on their left. Can't remember what the case looked like, but remember thinking it was a neat idea. :-)

I'm Paul and I'm a tokenholic.

I have an antique steamer trunk (my wife's grandmother's) full of tokens. It looks like a treasure chest.

I have a desk in my dork cave that is covered in constantly shifting piles of tokens.

I have an in/out box for trades, and a shelf full of token-shipping supplies.

I have spent many many hours thinking about tokens...

I tell myself that being a token addict is healthier than being a meth addict.

I tell myself that being a token addict is cheaper than being a crack addict.

My once great collection of Magic Cards, Minis, and other collectibles has been looted, traded and sold off... so that I can buy tokens.

I am a token addict and I'm okay with that.

I have been buying "a lot " since 2007. Only the last 2 years have I got a GT. it is not always a certainty

Heya Persolo! Kim (Kithren) was sitting to my right, at the riddle reveal. And she does indeed have a nice case for her tokens ; )
