<br />I agree with Smakdown, I haven't watched the stock market so closely in ages.  But perhaps instead of alphabetically arranging the buyers you put them in some random order as well.

If you have less than 50 buyers, you can assign each person two slots.  Arranging them in order of trade would be cool too.  I did enjoy this process though, even if I missed it by 1.

Yeah, random assignment would do it.  Or- consider results from 0-9 as re-rolls.  The last two digits of the DJIA are 5-8 times more likely to be a result of 0-9 for a sample group this size, but most other results (from 10-99) have a more random distribution.

I like it exactly the way it was run.  Guaranteed impartial number generation, and I agree with Smak that the "rerolls" just added nicely to the suspense.  =)

<br /><br />Same here- just suggesting an idea to make it truly random (so it's not always someone with a user name that starts with B or C that wins should he choose to do it again).  =)<br /><br />Ultimately, nobody has any right to complain regardless of the method used; he has every right to use whatever method he chooses.  It's absolutely awesome that he did it in the first place- and a bit of extra "off-season" fun.
